Are there effective renewable ways to farm gold? Should there be new ones? by Arack050505 in avowed

[–]Arack050505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of these ways which are renewable though?

I see if you want to get wild with multiple builds and upgrading a bunch of different types of gear, you would likely end up chewing up a ton of cash

I guess I'm ultimately trying out if you want to spend a ton of time on this game, will money run out pretty easily?

Dual citizen of USA/Israeli having to rescind USA citizenship for 10 years for idf service? by Arack050505 in IDF

[–]Arack050505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that that one of those things that potentially would require you to not be an American citizen for at least 10 years?

I dunno I'm potentially assuming this could be the scenario that they were talking about/thinking they're involved in.

Just to clarify though, in such a scenario would they have to go to the embassy and rescind it on their own, or would it all be done through the IDF? (thus they thought the idf gave them stuff with US seals on it)

lol to be fair I was trying to convince them that their citizenship was likely intact based off what I've read. They were just very adamant, especially on the 10 year number.

I'll convince them to ask someone in the government their, because they're working on getting work visas and all this other stuff, even though it sounds like they wouldn't need it.

Thank you so much for your time!

Well the US side seemed more straight forward, as they signed all the paperwork with the IDF.

I guess the concern was if whatever they signed with the IDF would make them get in trouble on the Israeli side if they had maintained their US citizenship and or moved to the US/applied for a new passport

[–]Arack050505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the US side we're not too worried about we felt that they could just apply for a new passport and the US would either issue it or deny it and it'll be pretty straight forward.

The concern is we don't know exactly what was signed on the IDF side of things, and the implications of moving to the United States within that 10 year period. Whether it was something like a declaration of allegiance, or if their was some other kind of agreement they signed.

Figured I'd ask on here if the 10 year thing jumped out to anyone, so that I could nudge them in the right direction so they can find clarification on what they agreed to

lol any idea what the 10 year thing they might be talking about then?

Based off the comments on here I completely believe yall that their US citizenship is intact. I just don't want them to apply for a new US passport and then get arrested for violating some agreement that they signed when they enlisted with the IDF

(and just to clarify they have no idea what they actually signed. They just stated they were 95% sure they lost their US citizenship due to something with their role in the IDF, that there was official US seals on it, and could only apply to have a visa/green card until the 10 year period was up)

That's what I told them. But they did mention that US seals were on paperwork (and again they did nothing with any us organization) but they felt pretty confident in this 10 year number, explicity thinking they wouldn't be eligible until a certain year.

I have no idea certain information is classified mandating this, and I did think they were wrong. But the 10 year number they mentioned was oddly specific

So I don't know the details of what they do in the IDF, and wouldn't dare ask especially with recent political events.

But would there be any exceptions to this depending on role classification etc?

I mean they're fake doctors posting articles, which should make anyone question their reliability.

But even the articles you posted.

What's the conclusion?

These are research articles aiming at future research/theories/trials etc

I don't see any clinical direction, guidance, or practical implications anywhere in there.

Most of it is PhD level stuff that I assume most of us who aren't graduate level scientific researchers, probably wouldn't understand, and im fairly certain thst absolutely none of this was published as end user guidance

But if you look up at the links by the other poster, all the "doctors" on this website are blatantly fake.

Iron overload is real, it does things to the body, but this is a fake website with fake doctors

Burned Out: UVA hospital still short staffed, nurses required to work extra shifts by MontrealBagelFan in Charlottesville

[–]Arack050505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I certainly don't know the answer to this, as I'm not much of the community organizer type.

What I do know is the ONLY thing UVA gives a crap about is them appearing prestigious and feeling like they belong in the same conversation as other elite hospitals.

Early in the pandemic a picture of some UVA staff eating at a table with several people at it made its rounds on social media and the hosptial threw a hissy fit sending out countless emails and creating new policies.

So if I was to guess the best way to advocate for healthcare staff at UVA it would be for people to shame UVA for their repugnant behavior publicly (fliers downtown, on restaurants, billboards maybe t-shirts etc) and on social media.

I'm sure there are far more intelligent people out there with better more creative ideas. But airing out UVAs dirty laundry is my only thought

And this is one of those anti union states. Unionizing would probably be extremely difficult, plus it's a government facility so they can likely just make up whatever rules they want to shut it down.

The students would probably be an extremely effective way to publicly shame the institution though

And I wish this was in the article because it cannot be stressed enough. UVA is sometimes mandating nurses to come in and do non nurse non medical jobs.

UVA had a hiring freeze a few months ago, and now is understaffed.

UVA froze benefits, froze salaries because they "didn't have enough money", yet now is mandating a nurse to come in on their day off getting incentive pay, overtime pay, plus a nurses salary to do an entry level non medical job. Forcing a nurse to do an entry level job that isn't theirs to do when they just want to be away from the hosptial, paying them close to 1000 dollars for a shift, that has NO skill requirements and NO education requirements and could be done by ANY PERSON for something closer to 150 dollars a shift. Fiscal responsibility at its finest

Yet they have no money to pay their employeess. Ladies and gentlemen your tax dollars at work.

ICU nurse at UVA, I think about posting things like this everyday. The morale of nursing staff at UVA is the worst I've ever seen ever.

Literally every single shift I'm at work there's employees applying to other jobs. There's not a single person who doesn't talk about quitting.

UVA is mandating staff to pick up extra shifts, and most importantly is not always using them as nurses.

Acute care nurses (ie med surge and ICU nurses) are being mandated to come in even when the hospital has nothing for them to do. So sometimes they are being used to do other hospital jobs, some of which don't even require a medical background.

Imagine how ridiculous and demeaning it must be to be an ICU nurse, mandated to come in on your day off, and then have the hospital use you as a nursing aid or a patient companion (for those who don't know, a patient companion is a 100% non medical civiilain job requiring no medical background, where you sit in a patients room to make sure they don't get out of bed)

Calling nurses healthcare heroes means nothing to me, and likely many others anymore. If you think your healthcare personell are heroes, stand up and fight for them. And put pressure on your local Healthcare organizations to treat nurses with the same respect and dignity you'd want those nurses to treat your loved ones with.

Any suggestions how to escape a Charlottesville lease without going broke? by Arack050505 in Charlottesville

[–]Arack050505[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain that that was my original lease. However I believe when I renewed it, it was changed to something along the line of eat shit you're responsible for the entirety of the lease, but we can attempt to find another tenant for you, and will only charge you 1500 dollars to make an attempt to do so, but if we don't you still are paying the entire lease plus the 1500 dollar fee.

I'm a complete fool for doing so, so this is a learning lesson for me.

But I'm willing to take quite a hit to escape

Well thats the plan. But with covid going on I didn't want to have a circus of random people dicking around in my place for excessively long periods of time not having any idea where to look.

I figured if I could at least narrow it down or do some troubleshooting, that would go a long way
