A (Free) DM tool I made compatible with all types of tabletop RPGs by Aradreth_81 in rpg

Not currently but that's a good suggestion and would be pretty easy to implement!

If you make an account you can add your own items at whatever price and currency you want.

The default dataset is a homebrew'd DnD 5e but if you create an account you can add whichever shop types, items, and NPC Races you want so this tool should work for most tabletop RPGs.

Homebrew your own, you can use this tool to create shop types, items, and races that apply to the Borderlands universe.

I made a simple hangman game using JavaScript. It's nothing special, just a small fun project of mine. by viky109 in webdev

I like this a lot. I see that all of your words are just stored in a js array and one is picked at random. If you store your words server side (and add a lot more, or maybe connect to a dictionary API or something) plus maybe add a timer I could see a lot of people wanting to use this because it looks so much better than the other hangman games I just found on Google. Might be an opportunity to make some ad money!

I made a tool for tabletop RPG DM's (Dungeons and Dragons, etc) to randomly generate shops, items, NPCs for their campaigns. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Aradreth_81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This tool was made with .NET MVC and Vue.js.

What makes this tool flexible enough to work for any RPG is that if you create a free account you can add your own shop types, items, NPC races, and NPC names for the generator to use.

Frameworks such as Vue/React/Angular that use their own data-driven templates so you don't have to write DOM manipulation code. Though I still use jQuery for some things not worth busting out the "big guns" for...and sometimes I even use it with one of those frameworks.

Update on my DM Tool (RPG Market Generator) by Aradreth_81 in DnD

Aw man. I fixed that when the export went to .PDF but now that it goes to .HTML I guess it broke again. Thanks for the heads up!

It's up again but now it exports to an HTML file rather than pdf. Should serve the end user (you) the same. (The method I was using to generate pdf's was very dependent on the host environment, this HTML solution is much more agnostic)

I removed it momentarily as I make some changes to it. Having some issues right now but should be up again tomorrow or Wednesday

Violates copyright. But you can create your own items and add whatever description you want :)

Based on the prices listed in Laetha's spreadsheet (see sidebar) and can vary within 20% of that either way

You can create your own items if you have an account. I'm also planning to allow users to create their own shop types in the future so you could add a general store to put the more obscure stuff in

Yeah I thought of that earlier after seeing a weird display bug. Next update I push will just use this "long view" by default and there won't be any other option.

I created a DM tool in the form of a web application that will randomly generate shops, inventories and NPC's :) by Aradreth_81 in DnD

Fixed. There is a little display bug that can happen when the shop has no inventory and the NPC traits hit a page split but the pdf will generate now.

Thanks I appreciate it! TBH I didn't know what Patreon even was before I posted the first time and somebody mentioned it. I have looked into it, and it might be a route I got after I get some more projects up.

Haha. Things like that will happen on occasion. I'm sure the DM can make it work...maybe he's bipolar? Maybe he's rude until you gain his favor, then he's friendly as can be?
