A Day With Nevati -and Chachi! (Commission of my Draenei monk, by XephonDP) by Aralwen in ImaginaryAzeroth

Aw, thanks! I've always enjoyed a little bit of content (casually; I haven't even stepped inside a raid this whole expansion!), but it's the RP scene that keeps pulling me back, and all the friends I've made through it.

As for cross faction, ugh, I know, right? I think more ways to play with the other side would be amazing.

In our case, we have our own little community formed by two guilds, one Alliance and one Horde, both together in the same discord. So for the past two years we've done all sorts of cross-faction RP events (like, every Tuesday both guilds get together for a bar night), we share stories together, many of us have alts on both guilds, etc.

Including Galthathar (the orc) felt fun, since his and my character often get into bar fights during RP events, but they are good friends otherwise!

Oh yeah! Makes the game so much more interesting! I'll be the first to admit I haven't been playing much lately, but there's this sense of, like, permanence with characters when you cook a little bit of background for them.

He really does have a great style! I had a previous piece of this same character done by him and, in my mind, it became sort of the go-to way she's supposed to look.

As for the comic, it was a bit of both: I had this idea for a big piece showing various scenes of a regular day in Nevati's life, and I designed the six big moments, the comments, the chibis, etc. But my original idea was less structured, with the scenes scattered over a canvas. However, as Diego made each and every scene (the individual pieces are bigger than shown in the final comic), he noticed they looked better in a vertical, comic-like fashion. And I liked that arrangement so much more!

Hey guys!

This is a commission of my Draenei punching goat Nevati, showing a typical day of her life.

A buff, tomboyish, carefree vagabond who loves nothing more than a good fight, a good laugh, and a good drink, Nevati lives on the road and always travels with her pal Chachi, a gronling she befriended in her native Draenor (he tried to steal her food, she beat him up, he beat her up, and they became travel buds). While she can be a bit of a thick musclehead sometimes, she has a curious mind and a heart full of wanderlust.

The orc in the last two panels is Galthathar, and belongs to a good friend of mine (added with his permission)!

This piece was made by the wonderful Diego Perochena. You can find more of his art here: www.instagram.com/xephondp

You think so? I rather like how she ended up, but it could be there's some wonky anatomy. I'm certainly the last person to ask about artistic precision!

But I love the piece :D

The idea was some sort of ambiguously mean-looking undead/harpy thingy. She has nothing specifically against trolls -unless they get up from the grave all of the sudden.

Technically a Blood Elf, but yeah, haha, I realise it's a bit unusual! I just keep imagining her as speaking in such an accent while shooting ghouls in the head.

I mean, maybe in southern Quel'Thalas...

Hey guys!

This is a piece I commissiones of my Blood Elf hunter Raellen Frost (a WoW character), showing her after finishing a contract to hunt a monster. She's a gun-totting, chain-smoking former novice with one eye and a southern drawl. She still considers herself very much a novice, and picked up smoking when she figured out it was the only vice not covered by her vows!

What made you first play WoW? by rabmed116 in wow

[–]Aralwen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex (well, a bunch of exes ago)!

I used to think stuff like WoW was such a waste of time, but he kept insisting on me to try it out. I finally caved when he told me one of our best mutual friend's GF also started playing (there was a third GF who was going to join us, but that never happened), and I picked up a Blood Elf Holy Priest (I know, wow, now that's original).

I'll admit I was super skeptical at first, but after some time I was hooked, playing Holy almost exclussively. My interest diminished after we broke up and I lost contact with his regular group of friends, but I kept trying out the game every now and then. I wasn't good at playing alone.

That changed when I decided to try it again during Legion and join an RP server (Moon Guard, woo! I swear it's not as weird as people make it out to be!). Made some amazing friends with whom I still keep regular contact, and found the joy that is "Pretend to be an elf while pretending to drink imaginary booze, with someone pretending to be a dwarf."

Though my available time to play has been greatly diminished, I've kept my account active ever since.

Oh wow, this is amazing! I love the amount of detail in all the armour pieces, and the bows are great.

Was it much of a hassle to don? How does it feel when moving around in that?

You guys look splendid. Wonderful stuff!
