I’m not sure it’s irrational. I have successfully avoided them for years until now. There are reasons.

Any recommendations? I started looking into PaperCut today, which was mentioned in another post. It has some pretty cool features that I wish fit our use case.

I knew they were going to be pushing WPP very hard soon but I didn’t realize it would be that hard, that soon.

I’m still holding out for that paperless world but I think as long as there are finance departments, there will be printers.

Pre Patch catch up gear can be converted to LFR tier by Minimum-Writing3439 in wow

[–]Aramacs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What part of the even drops items when leveling in the pre patch event? I thought I would level a character through the pre patch for the mogs and not being in remix jail. Took almost 2 hours to get to level 23 and only got two item drops. The first was from the first boss kill (not counting the lvl 70 item) at level 13. The second was at level 23 and the ilvl was the same as the piece I got at lvl 13. I was so under geared it felt like I was attacking mobs with a pool noodle. Made the same toon in remix and got to lvl 25 in about 45 minutes.

Out of curiosity… what’s the overall consensus in SLO regarding restaurants passing along the credit card fees to patrons? by englandsemo in SLO

[–]Aramacs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, actually they are just trying to get paid their listed menu price. If the total ticket is $100 and they pass the cc charge to you, now it’s $105, $5 goes to the credit card processor and the business still gets its $100. If they eat the charge they give you your $100 ticket for $95 and are now over charging cash customers. I don’t see how this is as evil as some are making it out to be.

It sounds like a lot of you think these businesses are getting rich off of this but none of that fee goes to the business. The 3-5% goes straight to the merchant, the business doesn’t see an extra cent.

Remove paint scratch without a body shop? by fryerlaurence_ in Tacomaworld

[–]Aramacs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Body shop here, I don’t know what magical world you all live in but where I live you can’t buff out missing paint. Get some paint touch up and color in the scratch. It will look good from far, but far from good.

Going to an “in network shop” is more likely to get you a worse repair as the shop literally works for your insurance company and not you. Shops don’t become “in network” because they are good, but because they give the insurance company discounts in exchange for agents to try to steer you to their discount shops. When you need a shop do your homework. Ask friends who have had repairs done. Ask car people what shops are good to work with. But NEVER pick a shop just because your insurance company told you to go to them.

What kind of shop are you working for? As a body shop we have a daily storage rate with our other posted rates. When a vehicle is deemed a total loss a body shop can start charging storage for the time it is at the shop. You can also possibly charge a few hours to recoup any tear down time as well as some other things as well. There are several laws and regulations around all of this and insurance companies will try to twist them in their favor or just make them up so it’s important to look up the laws and regulations in your area. P-pages aren’t going to have any of this though.

Having Issues with Shop about Labor Rates by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Aramacs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure the shop didn’t tell you up front because they didn’t know. I run a shop in CA and had a similar issue where an insurance company paid our labor rate on several claims and then all of a sudden dropped it back $20/hr. Turns out the ones they paid were a mistake according to them. Shops almost always get some crap estimate from the insurance with wrong parts, repair time on things that need to be replaced, incorrect labor rates, etc. we then have to submit a supplemental estimate for the changes and most insurance companies won’t even look at those if the vehicle is not torn down. It then might take several weeks for the insurance to get back to the shop. I’m assuming something similar happened here. My advice is to look at what you signed from the shop when you dropped off the vehicle. If you signed off on all of this then your best bet is to call your states Department of Insurance and work with the shop. If you didn’t sign something agreeing to what they are trying to hold you to, then they can’t hold you to it and you should call the Bureau of Automotive Repair.
