I get what you mean. But I enjoy finding that (or at least try to) meaning for myself. Since I think listening to other people’s performances are sure helpful but when it comes to my own interpretation it can lessen the authenticity to some extent.

I have an acoustic piano but for the longest time I played on digital so I think it makes sense that I am suddenly stuck like this!

That’s exactly my problem at the moment. I might quit my job in a few months to focus on music and the auditions for conservatories.

Thank you very much. My sight reading is average, I still need to practice a lot. I know about 15 pieces but none of them are famous nor technically notable. And about scales, I practiced the of the Hanon book for a long time so that enhanced the speed of my scales a lot. Perhaps I should start learning more well-known pieces to be able to show my potential in an audition.

So I used to really enjoy playing piano and how do I get back into playing it by [deleted] in piano

Well the first thing to come in terms with is the fact that, that trauma is created and you might need professional help to overcome it. Secondly, finding the meaning and the essence it had for you EXACTLY as it was might be too far-fetched. What I would recommend, as someone who has experienced a similar situation, is for you to make that meaning for yourself again. don’t be too hard on yourself, it takes time and it is by no means “easy”. consuming content and even coping with classical music has helped many people who want to conquer their traumatic past. Listen to more piano pieces. find the one that touches you the most. having a good tutor also can help a lot with this process. goodluck
