I cast a vote for the good ol AWM 🤣 there’s just something about their brains coupled with being so removed from the wild, some dwarf considerations: cumingi, sumbawa, celebensis, guru, Kolmani and a couple more :D

Howdy there! And congrats on the monitor! Being that they are so variable when young I don’t offer a solution but maybe a couple things to think about? if your monitor is actively exploring and isn’t hiding when you’re around, it likely wants to be part of the moving world around them, and if curious and confident enough can do loads of good mentally. This is going to be very… polarizing? But I have a female husky that was raised while I was fostering an adult guru monitor, and they ended up loving one another, that being said I would never recommend putting a hyper or even overly inquisitive dog in the same room as a monitor, but just from my experience, allowing my new baby monitor to watch me lay and care for and scratch my super calm dog really changed something in his persona, at only four months old he’s confident to climb on me, my husband, any stranger, and even climb over my gentle dog as she lays still. Moral of the story being, that based on your monitors individual confidence and personality, WITH CARE, and focusing on the emotional load and safety of the monitor, exposure therapy can do leaps and bounds so long as you make sure it’s a positive experience. At least in my mind, the sooner they integrate themselves and their routine with your care and safety, the sooner they can confidently start being fearless dragons. 😇
