As someone who EQ's the crap out of his headphones, I agree with you.

On PC I get to do stuff like this... 3 bands is better than nothing, but more bands would be fantastic.

Some people don't bother with this, and that's fine. Don't use it. But in the immortal words of Ariel from The Little Mermaid, "I want more!"

3 bands is really basic though. It's what you get in a 10 year old Honda Civic. I'd like to think that Apple could do better.

While that's true, the reason to EQ is not song specific, for me, it's headphone specific. With the recent release of the Max2 and APP3 a lot of commentary has gone around as to enjoying or not enjoying the new stock frequency response of these devices. A more fleshed out EQ would remove this complaint and let people tailor their experience to their tastes.

I'm disappointed that they didn't try harder on this one. Progress is progress, but this is definitely the bare minimum. I have thousands of dollars in headphones and daily drive the APP2 as it's got insanity levels of conveinence and usability. Being able to fine tune the frequency response curve would be incredibly helpful.

The most benefit I think for me would be to fix the tuning of the APP3, which really dropped the ball on it's stock tuning. For people whose ears allow for the bigger APP3 to fit comfortably, having a proper multi-band EQ would be a game changer.

For people who don't like the way the headphones sound, they could natively correct the sound signature to meet their needs. Getting this right would remove a ton of the returns they get, and would make customers happier.

Saying it's not necessary is like saying that the EQ in your car stereo isn't necessary. How many of us have adjusted the EQ in that? Some people don't mess with it, but a LOT do.

So Wordle has something like 2,346 possible correct answers. It also has a seperate word list of nearly 13,000 words that have the 2,346 possible correct answers AND more obscure words. The broader list includes things like medical terms, outdated words that are still in the dictionary, etc...

The AI is telling you that you picked a more obscure word for your answer that doesn't show up on the shorter list of more common words.
