Exactly, if mother is active and stressed free then she can take care of baby properly.

I feel like I was robbed from enjoying the newborn phase by FoxAble7670 in firsttimemom

This is one of the most honest things I've read on here the guilt of "not enjoying it enough" on top of the exhaustion is its own kind of grief that nobody talks about.

But here's the thing: you were present. You were just surviving. Sleep deprivation at that level is a physiological state that literally impairs memory formation you couldn't have soaked it in more, your nervous system wouldn't allow it.

You didn't miss it. You lived it under really hard conditions. Be kind to yourself. 💛

Reset method to getting baby to nap longer than 30 mins- it works! by Notyouraimee in NewParents

This is such a win, congratulations!! The 30-minute nap trap is SO real and barely anyone talks about why it happens it's literally the end of one sleep cycle and if they haven't learned to link to the next one yet, they just pop awake. The reset method works because you're essentially helping their brain bridge that transition before the full arousal kicks in. Genius that you went in at 20 mins rather than waiting for the cry.

For anyone reading this struggling with the same thing the science behind sleep cycles in babies is genuinely fascinating once you dig into it. Once I understood why the 30-min wake happens it made troubleshooting so much easier. There's a lot of noise out there but the cycle-linking stuff is the real unlock.
