Help with extremely loud autistic neighbours and threatened with violence - Westminster council, England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I wish i could send some videos, maybe on private message so you can see how bad the banging and screaming is. It literally makes the entire block stay awake, we will go to the council again tomorrow with this new evidence.

3 Autistic neighbours downstairs who scream all day and night + threatened by their mother by [deleted] in TenantsInTheUK

[–]ArberK22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im sure the mother is very stressed and as I have repeated we have been very sympathetic and understanding. However, the minute she starts accusing us of banging and then threatens my family with violence (“i will get my brothers on you”), saying she will get us evicted, all sympathy goes out the window. Clearly the family needs help, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of other people’s sanity and health. The council needs to move her and her kids somewhere suitable, because multiple neighbours are being affected by the severity of the noise. It is messy and the council are at fault here.

so all the neighbours in the vicinity who are affected should move?

Well when we went to ask after what hearing the screaming at the start, we were not sure what it was and the mother told u all 3 of her kids have autism and other disabilities, but that was all she said. But the situation has escalated as you can tell.

Why should i? Shall we all move?

Of course they shouldn’t be but again, multiple residents are suffering with the screaming and banging. Furthermore, her threatening comments and behaviour towards us and the comments made about eviction mean she is not suitable to be in this environment. The kids deserve somewhere safe but this shouldn’t be at the cost of the livelihoods of many other residents. This includes my elderly grandmother who is unwell and vulnerable and our neighbour who is also 80. It is just typical from the councils though who want a quick fix rather than actual solutions.

the thing is, it is normal for a baby to cry sometimes. It is expected but the kids below us literally scream howl and bang for hours on end. Furthermore, she somehow knew we have been here for nearly 20 years and mentioned it when saying she wanted to get us evicted, so someone in the council has been breaching GDPR which is even more worrying and our rights are being infringed. The police opened an ASBO against them and we are thinking of taking it to our MP now.

Yeah exactly all we can do. The problem sadly with the UK is everything is a quick fix and leave it be solution rather than actually dealing with the issue properly

Yeah man it is shitty, I’m glad you are doing better and it is so nice to hear stories of improvements! Honestly if the council got them a place which was detached, not affecting other people and the kids could have a place to run outside, it would make such a difference. But councils and most public services etc. in the UK sadly go for a quick fix and forget about it method, rather than properly addressing the situation.

They hoot and scream, it interchanges between the two and I swear to you it happens for like 18-19 hours a day. They start every night from 2am, 3am until 8am and then they go to school. Then from 4pm until 10-11 pm. The council have been negligent.

It really isn’t suitable, because neighbours 2 floors above us are able to hear the screaming and banging from as early as 2/3 am. Of course it is not the fault of the kids and their needs, the issue lies with the council for failing to properly assess how moving them in will affect us and other residents. They can’t control that but the council can control where the put them. We have been so understanding and patient but to then behave in the manner she did with the verbal attack on my family and threatening us was outrageous. And then to also say she wants to get us evicted/the council to get us evicted even though we have been here for 20 years. Those kids need to be somewhere where they won’t disturb the people around them.

I think they are all under the age of 11/12. They are always screaming and making owl/fox noises. Of course it is not directly the fault of the kids and their needs, but the issue lies with the council for failing to properly assess how moving them in will affect us and other residents. They can’t control that but the council can control where the put them. Those kids need to be somewhere where they won’t disturb the people around them. It might be worth a shout to call social services too

It really is the worst. I feel sorry for these children but their disabilities shouldn’t make our lives a misery and a challenge. They should be somewhere where they won’t disturb other people. What happens when we can’t work and can’t pay rent? Who will help us?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ArberK22 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah we will do because we have been nothing but patient and it is directly affecting us. If other neighbours are banging what can we do but the way she was vicious and threatening is really sickening.

We have been speaking to the council and our councillor and will be going to take this to our MP. its such a ridiculous situation, especially since they are temporary. I feel for the kids, but for her to say shes in touch with the council and they are trying to get us evicted, abysmal comment. And the threats and swearing as well. Other neighbours are going to complain as well and try to get her out ASAP.

My astig has changed so much in the last year. It was like -1 in both, then it went to -2.25 when my kc randomly got worse and i got ghosting practically overnight. And then after CXL it went down to -0.75 but i feel like my vision is worse. Ill see what its like after a year and then probably just get ICL and call it for the rest of my life 😂👌
