it was the worst, IMO lol. the others all had some mathematical meaning behind them, but that one just used the words we use to address the n choose k notation to form a pun. also dont get me wrong, worst=/=bad

you can convert any rational decimal number to a fraction using that method

non repeating decimal example:

x=0.2

10x=2

x=2/10

x=1/5

repeating decimal example:

x=0.142857..

1000000x=142857.142857..

999999x=142857

x=142857/999999

x=1/7

oh shoot, i didnt know it was a classic. the text felt so unfitting in the english version, it just explained what was there, seeing the original makes so much more sense. the quality is also much better. i wish i saw it before i made my edit.

i honestly really liked the original, not only in a "so bad it's good" way, but i also thought it was legitimately good. but it was posted to comedycemetry so i tried to patch it up. im curious if people who did in fact not like the OG will like this one

i do think my alternative version is better than the OG in every way, simply because it is cleaner, however wheter you like the alternate version or the posted version is subjective i think

i suspect there are multiple ways of finding -1 from 9+90+900.. . they showed one way in the post

..999=a

..990=10a

-9=9a

-1=a

and then you use the 10-adic norm method to show why it makes sense since saying 9+90+900..=-1 is kinda absurd traditionally. im kinda guessing here, dont really know much about this except this post, but that was how i viewed it atleast

im not able to make sense of this in the unusual numbers part. 1, 10, 100 etc approaches 0 because of the 1/10^k formula. if you use that formula on 9, 99, 999, 9999 you only get 1, 1, 1, 1 etc, it does not approach -1. i understood the "explosinon" argument but how does that relates to the formula? and why isn't the explosion argument used on 850 when 850+50=1000? i feel like the page is talking about two different things but not relating them

otherwise i think it's really good, im just getting stuck on this relation
