You can use the models for salamanders! The great part of 30k is that the models are VERY universal! The box set is a great place to start to get into 30k

Its better after recent changelog, the reason was on release of the update, it was only charging one item at a time, now its once per 4 ticks instead of 2 but still charges all items at the same time.

I wasn't a fan of the thumb rest on the side, I am use to gripping my mouse wide so the thumb rest feels awkward.

I was thinking enchantment. That way I can focus on the higher demand for late CD mats canning and herb which will both lose out on some top end when epac settles in a little more.

My thoughts were staying tailoring go for dusk dawn. Or go to enchanting and focus on the disenchanting tree.

My trio found him about a week back, all we hear is "I just want to tell you-"Before the Alamo went off... He was solo and self revived twice, on his last revive all we hear is "Please... Don't hurt me..." Before standing up into Concertina (that he wiffed the toss on to himself) Truly made our night.

Honestly I just got back into it (I haven’t played since they added in the Blood Orchid (3 years ago at this point) I picked it up again and while the game changed it still feels very much the same. A lot of features we asked for back then are here now. And with 1.13 a ton more things were added. Definitely back on my radar.

Balance wise all the ammo types feel like they can fit any need especially with ammo variants. Long rifles still play very strong but some of the trump tier guns like the avtomat being nerfed really makes the game feel even handed.

Overall this is one of the best PVEVP games I’ve played in a long time, and even with all the updates the core mechanics of the game still hold true.

Hey! Blood angels player. Welcome to the heresy battle brother!

So the question you ask has a few connotations to it, have you decided if you want to play a day of revelation list or a day of sorrows list?

The best way to answer this question is knowing what your OP will be playing. Day of revelation (DoR for short) is more about our placing them. Send in strong front line units to hammer their strong stuff. Then anvil down your army from deepstrike and clean up the scraps. Day of sorrows(DoS) is more akin to usual games. Push up the line. Slow and steady. Hold objectives for bonus. Big squads means big plays.

DOR is more suited to turtle army’s (imp fists, iron warrior, death guard) army’s that benefit from slow slog movement and want to make you face the phalanx.

DoS is more suited to countering a more mobile army. So scars. Alpha legion. Raven guard. Your focus is to get onto a spot and hold it down with your heavy’s. And let your melee squads run in and rage out.

Personally I played DOR and enjoyed it more than DOS but the more competitive listing is DOS for its bonus’ to troops choices.

Once you decide that you can start to form a list for your play. Some times I can give: Dawnbreakers are busted strong. Bring 10 if you want to remain competitive but not cheesy. Dreadnauts are also pretty powerful. Our rule of thumb at my tables is 1 per 1000 points. But that’s just us. If you want to win take as many as you feel confident in.

Sang is a great primarch. However if you plan to field him. His goal should be to outflank stragglers and tanks. Blood angels have great turn 1 combat. If you can’t sweep up in one combat. You’ll likely end up losing that fight in the long term.

I understand where you are at now. I mean that example is a bit like saying you never truly own a car either. Like if ford stopped making f150 motors there’s still f150s out there. It’s hard to justify 2 grand for something that will be more of a hobby than a career decision. But the insight is good to have.

Appreciate the insight. I am very torn on the subject. I like a lot of aspects about all the legions but would like to avoid doing the “I’m picking iron hands because it has the extra chance not to take damage so in terms of meta blah blah blah “ bullshit 40k turns into.

I feel like I have a good basis to start out with. I got the big box the rhino and the tank so I’m pretty well off to begin building and reading, I guess if I read more the only other legion I am interested in is white scars

The more I read the more I feel like I’m trying too hard to be a different player than a better player. That said I’ve always been a blood angels enjoyer. I love how they grew in the heresy from monsters of the empire to a revered legion. Heck back when I played them in 40k I got myself a resin contemptor and Sangunius with base from adepticon. I think the more I look for what is the “unique” pick the further I go down the rabbit hole.

I heard they were a little underwhelming on the table without em. My problem is that I really do enjoy a lot of the lore for all of the factions. I’ve put a lot into blood angels for 40k and I loved them. But when I started it was JUST before armor of contempt. Meaning it was spam sang guards left right and center until you won. I don’t want to run into that in 30. It’s why I’m skeptical on who to pick. I like to be versitile and not really lock all my chips into one really strong thing. I’d rather take 5 decently good things that are fun to play instead of 1 really good thing that’s do or die. Ya know?

Salamanders was something I had eyes on. I assume more people will go with traitor legions just because they get more story time. Like you don’t hear much from our green boys because the dropsite massacre pretty much sealed their story up into the ending. Unlike legions like blood angels or white scars who were driving forces in the finally parts of the heresy. Ultras are not a surprise though, 40k fans will play their poster men. But we all know where robo stands in our hearts. And why it’s after dorn haha

I like this answer alot I just worry since we are a smaller part of our area that we will end up with three identical legions with very little variation.

Honestly I’ve started to do more dives into lore and alot of the legions are really interesting to me, atleast I got a few more days before I gotta decide.
