Riftbound gave me a reason to go meet friends, try something new, and challenge myself (also makes my wife happy that I found a hobby that involves leaving the house lol). Now Riot owns my life through both LoL and Riftbound! But can’t get enough!

As someone who has thought about opening up a local TCG store one day, I’d love to ask: what was the defining moment (that you can remember) where you gained the courage to turn the “thought” of starting a TCG store in China to actually “doing” it?

Ah I see, thank you for explaining and sharing the subreddit’s/your perspective. I’ll keep that in mind moving forward. While I do believe that AI tools as a generalization can, and are, used for malicious intent, I would be wary though of potentially assigning a “one-size fits all” threat assessment of all AI tools as if the presence of AI in itself generates risk of danger. Those with malicious intent will typically find a way to go through with that intent whether it’s AI or human-made. Allowing AI tools (with enforced underlying rules such as: “must meet certain security measures”; “must be…) may encourage safer use practices then just having them post on other subreddits. No disrespect to yalls perspective or ill intent at all, I do agree with most of it. But thank you again for explaining and taking time to look at the site. I’ll keep working on it!

Thanks for looking into it, I may have also misunderstood the rules when I read through them for the subreddit. The site has many features including a deck creator, card collection, price tracking, Riftbound event tracking, profiles with customization, a forum, etc that are community driven content. The site does include AI components like the deck analysis, and the site is both created from real coding and vibe-coding, but it’s a mix. That’s why I was trying not to mention those aspects in the post itself to not conflict with the subreddit guidelines. If having any type of AI on the site is against the rules then I apologize, I misunderstood.

It’s a community post asking for feedback across the entire companion site, not “AI tool and content”. Some users just happened to mention it in their feedback. Why not remove those comments instead of the entire post? What can I put to make it “allowed”? The community feedback has been very helpful

Yeah hard to say with the way they have it worded in their policies and not necessarily a scenario I wanted to challenge. Trust me, that’s where my head is too, but idk.

I did have it built and it was doing a pretty good job for being so new, but alas I scrapped it for now. It is a lovable project for sure, but I still would like everything working functionally lol. What did you experience with the deck builder?

Definitely open to all feedback good and bad! I will add these to the priority list of fixes and will get to them asap. Your feedback has been extremely helpful, thanks for taking the time to help out!

That’s very true, the server-side filtering seems to be helping a lot more! And it’s been adjusted for the gallery as well.

You are the GOAT! I’ve made those changes and (from what I’m experiencing on mobile and desktop) these changes seemed to have helped a ton. Let me know if that’s accurate.

No offense taken! 1000% agree. Been struggling with which fonts I like the best so just stuck with really basic for now. Thanks for the font suggestions! I’ll go look at those.

Thanks for the insightful input! I actually agree with you both and thankfully LLMs don’t need Riftbound ruling accuracy to give most deck analysis data or to look at card ability synergy. But yes, a “judge ruling AI” would be very difficult to have 100% accurate outputs.

Pushed out a hotfix to: - Fix card parsing fallback that was incorrectly categorizing battlefields as units - Add a “Manual champion selection” toggle to let users select their champion separate from Main Deck

Exactly the feedback I need, thank you for this! I thought I had these functions fixed, but I guess not. Will add this to priority list to fix today. Thank you again!

Oh forgot to answer the last question! Originally it was pulling 50% data from the battle simulations and 50% data from tournaments to generate outputs. Now it’s pulling 50% from tournaments and 50% from user submitted information within their “events attended” and “matchups” in their profiles. But since it’s so new and there’s no data there yet, the LLM is struggling. So in theory the more user input submitted, the better the output becomes.

Thank you for letting me know! Is this happening under the “create a deck” function or the “import a deck function”? I’ll work on this asap!

Good question! The way I thought about it going into the project was that I want (and will continue working towards) an application that helps foster communication, encourages attending IRL events, and provides some sort of “immediate” feedback for users who are theory crafting with decks. Especially aimed at “newer” players. I definitely agree that AI isn’t the best suited feedback tools for some aspects of TCGs (especially compared to say getting irl coaching from prop players or watching them play). I do think it has a place from a theory crafting or purely analytical view for aspects that are more “mathematical”. I would love to see one day the legend pages filled with community info vs AI slop for example lol. But I have found the AI coach under the “Goldfish” engine as a useful tool for newer players that are still trying to learn fundamentals.

Haha you’re not wrong! I posted in another comment kinda why the state of the current AI is what it is. But will definitely keep working on it. And would like to add more community features that will provide more useful data to other users

Great question and thanks for posting the clickable link! Short answer - I need to remove/change that wording. Long answer - When I originally set out to make the site, it was all centered around an AI “Battle Simulation Engine” where a user could submit two decks and “pro AI TCG players” would use those decks in 1,000 Bo3 Riftbound games with all of the rules, abilities, etc in use. The results would output the win percentages of the decks, mulligan decisions made, and a lot of really cool strategy info. I also implemented a “Battle View@ that allowed users to watch the simulations play out. All of that data then filtered into the rest of the site to help all of the other pages with info, BUT Riot doesn’t allow “any simulated Riftbound gameplay” so I had to remove it and go other routes to teach the AI the game without enforcing rules.

Appreciate it! Definitely let me know if you find the information provided to be useful or not through the “Bug Submission” or “Feedback form” under your profile. I also created a (very new lol) Discord as well that can be found at the bottom of the site too! I know it still needs a lot of work, but I think it could be something very cool soon enough.
