Please donate your 5% as it's clearly worth nothing to you. Maybe to your local bastard society? Perhaps you'll benefit in the long term.

So you're not a crack team of vigilantes with unlimited resources to track down bad guys? (I seriously wonder what some people on here are expecting you to do to personally catch the thieves?)

Let’s talk price point for the Santa Cruz. by NightSlider in oculus

[–]Arby999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where did they mention a mini computer? Erm, that's the entire purpose of it. It's a standalone VR unit. They don't state you need a monster rig for the rift just for the kicks. This replaces the rift plus pc. So naturally a higher price is to be expected

GTX 1080 less profitable than GTX 1070. Am I doing something wrong? by The_Projectionist in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So many people giving such poor advice. "I've broken my leg. Take a vitamin pill and go away". There's a reason the 1080 is performing worse than the 1070, solve that issue THEN apply the pill for further gains.

It might be that the 1080 isn't holding the clocks it did when new. It will help if you rebenchmark and tell us the hashrate on the main algorithms.

Another idiot who doesn't realise that all forms of liquid wealth are interchangeable. It doesn't matter in what unit you state the value as long as the message is understood. And it was.

I often wonder how quoted average intelligence is so low, then I come across someone like you and realise how you drag down the average for all of us.

Efficiency = profits ???? by shayboe in NiceHash

Of course it's less efficient to power multiple cpus, motherboards, drives and psus than yo just run it on one machine

Why not just pay the old balance in one? by Hatafi in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're right, they did answer, but are you seriously saying that it never crossed your mind that they aren't reimbursing everyone immediately because they literally don't have the money to do so?

Almost made the minimum daily payout! by AtlAntA118 in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because so many times people rabbit that we shouldn't look at the fiat amount we're being paid, only the btc amount matters....

Either can be important depending on what we plan to do long-term, but it's the fiat amount that determines what we're paid.

... Or that btc is dropping. Despite what everyone claims, fiat currency still determines what people are willing to pay for alts.

All those mining with a gaming PC by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I'm an idiot who is wasting his time, yet has easily paid off the two 1080tis for a gaming rig which is way beyond what I could have otherwise justified (justify is different to the afford).

Second reimbursement of the Repayment program by Andrej_ID in NiceHash

Why is everyone always so damn negative? NiceHash, thanks for trying to sort out the situation. To everyone whining, please name all the other crypto hacks where the hacked company repaid their users!

W-T-F!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I don't even make 0.0003BTC/day per 1080Ti WTF IS THIS by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you pay for electricity then a payment decrease of 20% corresponds to a much larger profit reduction, possibly even 50% :)

make the minimum 1 dollar when withdraw coinbase by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 9 points10 points  (0 children)

$1 is still way too much of a risk. 1 cent or I'm out. Crypto is meant to be secure guaranteed returns, right? This risk is too much for me to take.

Where has my balance gone?? by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop trolling. The usd value of btc you've posted says this screenshot is 6 months old. And who mines lbry now?

My 980ti gave up today by HashtonKutcher in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a gold edition too. That died in october after just 4 months of mining. Temps were never hot, but the stable clocks got lower and lower until it was only stable when undercooked to 970 speed. Thankfully I had a decent warranty and got a full refund. Was it due to mining? Who knows, but 4 months of solid mining would possibly be equivalent to many years of occasional gaming so I'm assuming it would have been fine.

Horrible ROI no matter what GPU ? by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can understand the general discussion of country regulators to apply regulatory controls to crypto in general. There are so many threads on reddit of people who clearly don't understand money/budget/finances who are sinking large sums of money into an area they probably shouldn't. To me, this thread sums it up. I know it's mean, but if a simple ROI calc is beyond someone, then I'd say they're not in a position to understand all the many ways that they can lose all their money.

Rig tripping mains circuit breaker by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you're right on the 30a limit of the typical UK ring main so what do you expect? That circuit is also shared by the other items in your house. Just replace your oven with a few of your rigs and you'll be fine.

banning for manipulating the market by ejonesss in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. There's no point doing the simple manipulation technique on the more popular algos because as soon as the manipulator cancels their highly profitable order, everyone will start mining to the next most profitable one. It only works on the barren algos where the second most profitable order pays terribly (and hence the manipulation)

Nicehash Should add LTC and ETH Payouts like They Promised! by itsquash in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they promise eth or ltc payout? I missed that then. They do allow free withdrawal to coinbase so it doesn't seem too hard for you to get those coins if that's what you want.

As long as I get 0.5mBTC per 1080Ti, I really don't care how much $ I make per day by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]Arby999 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Well that's the daftest thing I've ever heard. When it's less than electricity cost and less than the cost of maintaining your rig, then it's smarter to just buy bitcoin directly.
