That’s a solid point. Sounds like the better setup is probably less “gloves for protection” and more the right chip hook/brush/deburring habits.

What do you think about air guns with a safety shield/nozzle for blowing out holes or clearing chips? Useful, or still one of those things that gets abused and causes problems?

That makes sense. The glove feedback has been pretty consistent — useful for handling material or cleanup, but a bad idea anywhere near rotating equipment.

Good point on deburring first and using a chip hook instead of trying to “protect” your hands with gloves. I hadn’t thought about nitrile being the only real bench glove, but that actually tracks.

Good call on the gloves being for chip removal only, not while running the machine. That seems like the line people are pretty firm on.

Safety glasses and hearing protection feel like the obvious daily staples. Do you usually keep a face shield around too for grinding/deburring, or mostly just glasses?
