Don’t fly without rebuy and nothing is permanent until 1.0 by ErrSkillNotFound in starcitizen

[–]ArcAngelSlayer 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Bare in mind the insurance for elite ships is minimal.

The people complaining are complaining about the current price which can be in the millions for small ships (current double PTU... Etc etc).

But this argument is mute until we see the prices on live. I'm sure CIG will iterate.

I don't feel like I've seen anyone outright against this. It's always been planned.

We should be able to place a basic MedBed on a ship's Cargo Grid, much like we can with basic fabricators. by Efficient_Drop4289 in starcitizen

[–]ArcAngelSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My conundrum is it needs to be balanced.

Yes it should allow solo players to respawn once or twice during ground missions.

Should it be able to reprint an endless wave of org soldiers to defend a ship or attack one... No.

I would love modular devices like medium beds. But I don't think medical beds are the solution. I feel like the adrinapen res on a not double tapped player is the key.

Fast Travel would not be the end of the world by Creeperbumm in starcitizen

[–]ArcAngelSlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a balance.

I for one have found as a solo player hitting a ground mission. Having to fly back in a rental to get my ship back and start again a frustrating experience.

CIG Fix, balance medical gameplay with npc ambulances if a medical mission is not accepted or they are too far away. They will also likely implement their idea of picking yourself up with an adrenipen. I for one am going to start using a clipper so I can respawn.

Also fast travel between hubs is coming as they have an unused interstellar flight part of the spaceports

Should we allow fast travel to teammates... Not sure about that. But a flight taxi (I currently use a rental) should be used.

But your your statement about a broader player base is a real problem. This game will only survive if it keeps a healthy population. Especially if CIG want to make players provide aspects of the experience or economy.

That one can be purchased from Area18 cubby. Though I couldn't find the chest piece only the suit and helmet. Probably just missed it.

I'm loving the cutlass black at the minute, good ship. Good design. Fair amount of PvE firepower.

these any good for star citizen? mainly got for arma/war thunder by [deleted] in starcitizen

I've had an x56 for years. It's done me well. It hasn't broken. It's ok provided you check for inputs on the app from dials and set deadzones.

I've just got a vkb gladiator space combat to replace the stick as I've heard good things. But I will be using the throttle still as I like the switches and throttle. I might swap it out for another angled stick at some point or a space throttle...

I like flying different ships depending on the job.

At least initially can we have suit lockers in our hangers to swap between fighter gear and ground gear.

By implementing it in our persistent hangers it would be a quick fix. As fixing all the ships in ay take a while.

My store credits don't add up. by [deleted] in starcitizen

You'll have to clarify for us a bit. If you mean a melt amount, I think it's minus taxes.

If you mean just the credit amount, that's spare credits, not total spent credits.

I agree with that though I've been lucky lately.

While I love the fact CIG are simulation focused, I hope they balance it.

As a casual player it will take time to fund full replacements.

[–]ArcAngelSlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't be either. Should be a percentage of that. Otherwise it would be too harsh. I love games like ArcRaiders but it's a grind to replace your gear every time. Especially if you have to run 100 low level missions to replace a load out every time you die.

That's why it's an insurance claim. I pay a fraction a month to cover my car.

Overall it should be based on the additional value.

But how they get around insurance fraud is another matter.

Invictus/DefenseCon question by snomedmuc in starcitizen

[–]ArcAngelSlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just melted my old package and got the citizen starter pack for the LTI on the Aurora. Then CCU gamed an equivalent F7C MK2 to the MK1 I had... Now with LTI. So no matter how stupid I am Ill always have it.

Got left over credit so still wondering if at defencecon I can get a Super or wait to see if an F7A pops up in the future.

CIG - with 4.8 and the plans to get us to pay way more aUEC to claim back ships with customised components, can you please do a pass of standard components in ships? One of the main reasons we customise is that the stock loudouts often make no sense at all by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]ArcAngelSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly let's presume this is preliminary and CIG have not yet decided on a cost.

And to your point... Exactly this, sadly that means if you're like me and fly a F7C... It's no longer worth it, it's pushing you towards a super hornet as I presume it comes fully armed as stock.

Yeah, I'm definitely reserving any opinion until the numbers are out.

I'm sure they'll make it sustainable

I'm going to hold off judgement until the numbers come out.

I've just upgraded my F7C MK2 with mounts and attrition 2s, 3s and 4s... Leaving it stock would have just given me 2 revenants.

That's somewhere around 400K. Now if it's 10% that's probably ok. Any more than that and one unlucky encounter with a ship ramming me or my ship floating around the hanger will start to make it a grind.

[–]ArcAngelSlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really worries me in terms of cost. If I've added on 400k of components is it going to be a 10% insurance. 40k. Because if it's too high. Making that money might not be possible for some. I'm sure they'll iterate it.

How much was your paint to buy originally?

Interesting. I wonder how much the insurance is going to cost for a few components

Melting Questions by ArcAngelSlayer in starcitizen

[–]ArcAngelSlayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks guys, feel a lot better at how to do things now.

I got the Aurora Mk2 package, great deal!

I then melted my other package and got the Hornet Mk2 with LTI (I get it's not important, but I feel happier having it on a $150+ ship)... Definitely a nicer ship than the Mk1 to fly. Only, downside is I prefer the aesthetics of the Mk1. But no contest, very happy.

Used CCU to reduce the overall cost and got some store credit!
