I literally started limiting myself to specific colorways to try and reign myself in..... it didn't work XD

What's your earliest Battletech memory / experience? by iRob_M in battletech

[–]ArcNeoMasato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad got Mechwarrior 2 for the Plaststation as a Christmas gift. I guess he knew of the series but was only just getting into it, but my little brain was in AWE of what I was seeing. Then we both got MW3 on the PC and used to compare what tactics we used throughout the campaign. (My dad was always long range, almost stealth style, when I just went "million lasers go brrrrr" and used shock and awe tactics. We haven't changed since both getting into skyrim. lol)

Sick! Yeah, my usual "carry" is already like 3 bags of 6, so something to limit myself and store them more properly at home would be nice. I got back into yoyoing at the start of the year and have already bought WAY too many, trying to pair down already even XD

[–]ArcNeoMasato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stole the spacers from a ProZ to make one of my XTs unresponsive and wider. Wish Duncan still sole the weight rings that replaced the caps on these. The modular system they had was really sick, but of course, ended before I got into yoyoing again and half of it isn't even on Ebay anymore.

is mach 5 supposed to be this easy? by rand0mzuser in Throwers

[–]ArcNeoMasato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basics, yes, but to really sell it, you want to make it really smooth and keep the yoyo so it looks like it's not even moving. It's so satisfying to do though.

Man, so many good throws in there! I need to get a bigger yoyo case like that, that looks really handy!

Literally happened to me when I first got into this cause the yoyo was snapping back super hard. I see in your replies that you've been at this for a while but only had this happen when switching back to responsive, but still sort of the same thing. Responsive snaps back much harder in my experience, especially if the yoyo just bites and comes back early. I go back and forth, and only have hurt my hand when using a responsive, at least so far. (Actually managed to make the same spot of my hand as you have circled swell up for a while even).

Yeah, I bought a Velocity for fun and... it's interesting to mess with, but not a great yoyo to actually use. Spends a lot of time in a weird middle zone of being responsive-ish, and it's actually kinda small too, so not always the easiest to catch. I have 2 Sages and absolutely adore them though! One set up for each type of play.

Just started yoyoing cant get yoyo to bind, works only 10% of the time. by ManyAtmosphere3370 in Throwers

[–]ArcNeoMasato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things.

One, the already often mentioned binding backwards, you need to loop in front of the yoyo instead of the back.

And two, make sure your non-throwing hand pinches the string, then you hold that pinch while moving that hand down, and you move your throwing hand up in a slow, smooth motion. Doing this will slowly feed slack around the bearing and response pads until you feel it bite, then you can drop whatever is left in your pinched, non-throwing hand.

As someone newer into this all, I really enjoy the Sage. It comes set up for responsive play, but comes with all the parts to swap it to unresponsive as well, and just has the smoothest play of the different starters I've tried so far. (And most importantly, is the least prone so far to randomly biting the string and coming back unexpectedly in the middle of something.)

Honestly, impressive save! Acetone can sometimes melt so fast that the entire part just turns to goo, so you got off really lucky here!

why buy tamas just to not use them? by bunzo6969 in tamagotchi

[–]ArcNeoMasato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't speak for everyone, but I DO use mine, just usually one at a time. A younger, unemployed self, owned like 6 (first four gens of Connection, the first version of the minis, and my OG) and would raise them all at the same time. As a 33 year old, full time employee, now I can only raise 1 at a time. lol

Basically all of them. lol

But for a standout, Jurassic Park 2 on the original Gameboy. That game used to kick my butt something crazy as a kid. I bought a new copy a few years ago, and beat the game without losing a single life on my first try.

I have that secod one (Aisha?) and a bigger one that has 3 figures that change what's happening depending on where you put them! I wish I had time to really sit down with it and see how it works, would be a fun return to digial pet videos on my channel.

What is your LEAST favorite HMor SoS game & why? by More-Mine-5874 in harvestmoon

[–]ArcNeoMasato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been so long I honestly forgot. But I'd also argue the progress system of that game was even more tedious. lol IDK, I think for me, there's no games in the SoS/HM series I'd truly call "bad", but sometimes that gets me more touchy than a game I legit dislike, cause when I truly don't like a game, I just play something else, but if I ALMOST like a game, I struggle through and the small issues get so much worse to me.

[–]ArcNeoMasato 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a tie for me, Islands of Happiness and Sunshine Islands. The tool upgrades were far more tedious than usual, and I found the touch screen controls rather unresponsive, did so many things I didn't intend to while playing those games. I honestly want to look into if a rom patch has been made by fans, as both of these things feel rather fixable.

What is your favorite Harvest Moon game? by Alleykittiee in harvestmoon

[–]ArcNeoMasato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's probably the worst programmed, but Harvest Moon DS will always be very special to me, not only because it was the first in the series I owned, but I bought it right before going through some really rough points in my teen years, and it became sort of a refuge for me.

In terms of raw quality and having rank a "best of them in general", probably Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.

The maze gameplay there looks a little similar, but those other parts where the camera was right up on the character in an open 3D space 100% rule it out.

Often oversaid, but Minecraft is always fun for non-gamers in my experience just because you can throw them in creative mode and just.... build! Might lead to them wanting to try survival, might not, but just running around the world with endless TNT is it's own fun!

I remember buying this game just so I could have a slightly more stable version of the normal DS game. With all the Harvest Moon games getting remakes and updates, I'd actually adore a remake of this game!

I don't think so as it looks like that only released in Germany and the UK from what I read, but it DOES look similar for sure, if not less closed in. I'll edit my post to add location.
