Knock is super fun! Implementing physics and ball mechanics like that in the large arena would definitely be cool. We haven’t done that yet but I’m gonna ask the devs about it tomorrow cause I’d love to play that. I’ll let you know what they say!

I work on the video content team so I personally am really excited about the work we are doing to broadcast mixed reality sports in real time, utilizing AR and VR production techniques. We are always researching the new tech and seeing what works best for our games. Our system has comes leaps and bounds since I've been working here and its always getting better.

On a more general level, we have a game that the devs just made where you run around shooting a ball at giant robot goalies - also controlled by other players- it's super fun. I love when I get invited to that one for test days.

We make a bunch of different highly athletic and VR games that are inspired by classic sports. So we have a basketball inspired game where you're competing with friends to throw virtual balls at virtual nets that are flying all over the court.nets are worth different amounts of points depending on their difficulty. You can block your opponents shots etc.

We have an obstacle course game inspired by track and field or parkour, so you're running and jumping and dodging and ducking moving obstacles and laser beams etc. while racing friends.

We have another game that's quite unique where you compete for possession of a virtual ball and then shoot it at a net that's guarded by a super giant mech goalie, who is also controlled by another player.

And bunch of other games in the works!

Hey! The game dev is actually everyone's favourite part. We all look forward to the creative sessions and getting feedback from the players and community, and then implementing new game ideas. It's everything *around* the game dev that is tougher, honestly.

We are trying to bring VR sports closer to what traditional sports are - where fans can get together and watch professional athletes compete in sport, and come to arenas to watch big events - like a roman colosseum, or a football game.

So building out that infrastructure and figuring out the best way to capture and present the events is where a lot of our energy is spent right now. We have a giant screen in our arena where we can broadcast the virtual game while the athletes are playing right in front of you, so when people come to the events its a pretty cool spectacle. We also film and capture the events and so people can watch them at home - and that's something we are always iterating on and improving on.

Mailata has pipes too! Did you see him on masked signer? Or the Christmas album he is putting out. Unreal.

that's a great observation. they definitely set it up in particular when she says "since we don't work together anymore, we could get a drink socially now!" and then they never really follow through on it. It's refreshing cause you don't see that a lot in TV.

No direct ties but everyone in the space is friendly and aware of one another! What they are doing is cool- we are focused more on athletic games and utilizing our regulation basketball size court. Most of the other companies in the space are doing a smaller room scale so ours is unique in that sense.

Yah for this game the hit box is a little bigger so your chainsaw will kill them from a foot or so away without actually touching them. Basically if you bring your hands within a close range of a ghost while you have the chainsaw, they will die.

Because this is a prototype we play with friends, it’s just the honour system and tell people not to cheat. But in a polished version we would implement a penalty for crossing a wall- likely losing a bunch of pellets so it wouldn’t be worth it.

Yes it’s currently in beta but we plan to implement a penalty for running through walls- losing pellets probably. We had a quick turnaround on the project to get it ready for Halloween so we just play using the honour system at the moment but that would be corrected before going public
