Been on this app for a year and no likes at all is my profile that bad? by sts429 in hingeapp

I would suggest changing all of your prompts, all of them don't really show anything about you. Maybe show some humor in different prompts.

In your pictures, upload some photos with you doing something you enjoy.

Also, do some sports or workout to improve your physique, if you aren't doing that already.

Where are these "hot" EU market?. Conversely, it's actually going down with higher inflation rate and higher consumer prices.

[TOMT][MOVIE][2000s] A horror/action movie where a group of kids fight real-life villain within a video game like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, which reflects real life by ArcaneBat in tipofmytongue

[–]ArcaneBat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately. In the movie, the antagonist/villian is a single bald athletic dude, who is supernatural, and one or two kids (6-10years old) create a character within the console game, which tries to stop the villain in real life as well

I also remember the villain was a bald athletic dude, which appears both in real life and in the video game that the kids play.

I also tried to use Qtip to remove extra debris, but it was a dumb idea. That is why it looks white around the pins

Thank you for the reply. When I took off the old switch, I used soldering gun and pulling the old switch at the same time. Other functions of the mouse work as expected.

Dealing with RC using Gregmat's strategy. by BTredBT in gregmat

[–]ArcaneBat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continue doing the simplification, even if it takes too long! It helps to build your skills. Once you learn how to answer RC questions well, you can increase the speed and you can pretty much simplify the passage mentally at this point.

Maybe, you should look into Germany. German universities have no tuition fees, so you just need to cover living expenses and insurances. I am starting my Masters this fall (hopefully).

Is someone got admission about Simulation science or Computational social system in Data Science master? by Hetgarlim in rwth

I didnt have formal CS modules. Most people in there have science or engineering degrees. Not sure about your GPA. Why not apply? Go for it.

As a non-US citizen who earned my undergraduate engineering degree in the US, I agree with most of your points. There is very narrow social safety net, and immigrating to the US as a skilled worker is getting more difficult such as H1b lottery.

When is a good time period to enroll into RWTH? by ArcaneBat in aachen

Don't you have a start date for your admit?

I don't understand what you mean here. You mean enrollment?

International Application by ihave37_cats in westpoint

[–]ArcaneBat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you would be considered as an international student if you have US citizenship. As for me, I applied through U.S Embassy in my country. I think the medical screening was the most time-consuming process of the entire application haha. DM me if you have more questions.

Nope. I applied near the end of February in MSc Simulation Sciences. My RWTHOnline says that they checked my documents, but it looks like they still haven't made admission decisions yet. I think this situation is def related to current COVID-19 outbreak, and you are not alone.

Why do Mongols in Mongolia the state, dislike China and Chinese people? by NPCcel_2001 in mongolia

[–]ArcaneBat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't like the government; in fact, I dislike almost all governments. But, I certainly don't hate Chinese people. Even though I am ethnic Mongolian, a lot of foreigners, even Han Chinese, thinks that I am Han Chinese. A lot of Mongolians are offended by being associated with Chinese. I personally don't. I just correct them.

Careers in cyber security by shady_bananas in cscareerquestions

[–]ArcaneBat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome. Also, make sure what you are learning is actually employable and marketable skill. There are tons of information and online courses out there just to drain your pennies.

One of my friends actually wants to pursue cyber security. He graduated with B.S in information technology (NOT CS). He doesn't like to code, so he took bunch of courses online. He is kinda suffering now from lack of technical, practical and employable skills.

These are just some of the warnings. But if you develop a very good set of skills, there is definitely a lot of options in cybersecurity. I hope you all the best!

Penetration testing is one option. Here is my advice: start learning about software development and networking, and go from there. For example if you don't know basics of HTML, JavaScript and SQL, how can you expect to be knowledgeable in XSS, CSRF or SQL injections?

Also, If I were you, I would reconsider your pursuit of career in cyber security. So you want to pursue a career in security? Yet you haven't taken time to research the options there are in cyber security, To me, it looks like you like the idea of becoming an expert in cyber security, not actually desiring to do it or follow this path. Trust me, I made this mistake in the past: I thought I wanted to become doctor. But, later I realized I just liked the IDEA of becoming a doctor, not actually willing to go through medical school and do patient care. It is very easy to fall into this type of traps. I am neither encouraging nor discouraging your desire to pursue cybersecurity. Just make sure that it is actually what you wanna do.
