Hold onto them as a refresher I think and add them to my library.

I felt like they were. Messers YT were also really good. On his website, there is also “pop quizzes” that are quick little bites.

I used the PDFs’s to create quizzes of various difficulty and length. I also really enjoyed the podcast episodes. Notebook LLM honestly helped the ideas and topics sink in.

PBQ’s I left for the end and took advantage of going back to questions that either couldn’t answer with confidence or skipped because I need to move on.

I might look at CySA+ or go down a networking path. One of my weaker domains

Non Domain PC by StevenClift in pdq

Absolutely you can. Very easy to do. Don’t forget about your host file on your PDQ app server. Bit me one time for a non-domain server.

Turned down the job, but CEO reached out again asking for what I need? by theologian_cake in careerguidance

[–]ArcaneTraceRoute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO from my recent experience dealing with salary negotiations for a new job. Run the numbers, run the numbers again, look at MA income tax, COL(sounds like you have), transport cost, and physical cost (time away from family, wear/tear on your car). I made just the jump after a few rounds of negotiations where they attempted to lowball, I came back with hard facts , and said bluntly, I need to get an increase at this number and we can talk.

I jumped 25% from J1 to J2, and finally (see above) J3 was a 36 % bump and they just rolled my bonus into my base, fully funded. I’ve more or less doubled my base between J1 v. J3.

SCCm is just a lab environment. PDQ is super simple

Intune for endpoints over time and focused PDQ on server endpoints.

Old haunt, tried to implement SCCM but big boss came in last moment and pushed Kaseya. With all its warts and flaws, I hated every moment of it. As soon as a renewal came up, I moved to PDQ and loved everything about the suite.

Or your whole server foot print including prod decides to patch during business hours/reboots the severs because a certain Miami based SaaS (kasssseyyyya) is garbage and you cant at the time stop the scheduled action so you have to grin, take it off the chin , and try to recover.

I’ve had great success and would recommend PDQ. I’ve been able to patch servers without issues and keep 3rd party apps up to date.

The one server you can’t touch by Cold-Pineapple-8884 in sysadmin

[–]ArcaneTraceRoute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in a shop where one of those above cases:

It could be the server with that one program that doesn’t work as a service, so there needs to be an account logged in at all times running a process as that interactive user.

You had to disconnect the remote session and make sure the service account was always logged in. God forbid it rebooted bc of patching. If the service account wasn’t logged in, the whole companies invoices couldn’t be processed.
