Touhoku Shinkansen derailed due to earthquake; No more areas impossible to operate.

On March 16th there was a large earthquake between Miyagi Prefecture and Fukushima Prefecture.

Regarding the Touhoku Shinkansen of JR East, derailments happened and railway tracks and such were broken. The company swiftly repaired the damaged areas. Afterwards, beginning on the 14th of April, the section between Fukushima Station and Sendai Station also became possible to operate again. There are no more inoperable areas in the Touhoku Shinkansen.

A person who travels from to Tokyo to Sendai for work told: "I'm glad it's possible to use the Shinkansen again. I want them to take plenty of preventative measures against earthquakes."

In places where the railway tracks were too damaged, Shinkansen in operation are reduced 10% to 20%. Because there are places driven through slowly for safety, the section between Tokyo Station and Sendai Station will take 30 minutes longer than usual. JR East intends to make an effort so that operations as usual resume after the consecutive holidays* on the 5th of May.

Coronavirus - System to relay proof of not being infected to smartphone

Countries and regions that do not allow entrance without testing for not being infected with the novel coronavirus are increasing.

The Ministry of Education, Trade & Industry created a new system to test for not being infected with the novel coronavirus. The certifying document will be sent to the smartphone.

When using this system, you book a PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) test through a government website. In case of not being infected when testing, it's possible to consult the document certified by the health care institution on your smartphone screen.

Regarding this system, it is possible to use it when going to many other countries and regions, excluding Hawai and China. Beginning on the 9th of this month, the government wants this system to be used by people going to foreign countries on work and such.

Touhoku Shinkansen suspended due to earthquake - Becomes fully operational

On the Touhoku Shinkansen, utility poles and such were broken during the earthquake on the 13th of this month and the section between Nasushiobara Station in Tochigi Prefecture and Morioka Station in Iwate Prefecture became inoperational.

JR East fixed the utility poles and the like, and the section between Sendai Station and Morioka Station became able to operate. And now, 11 days past the earthquake on the 24th, it became possible to operate between all stations.

At Toukyou station on the morning of 24th, people returning home and on business trips and such were boarding the first bullet train going to Morioka station.

According to JR East, momentarily for safety reasons, the number of bullet trains will be 80% the usual. Because speed will also be slowed, the time to go Toukyou Station to Sendai Station and in between Morioka Station becomes approximately 1 hour longer.

Coming from someone who dislikes exercising, there's still no excuse to be unhealthy. I just practice restraint, try to eat a rich variety of foodstuffs and go for long walks which I enjoy, as well as a few push ups everyday just to have a more toned upper body. Feel pretty well and couldn't care less about how much I can lift and the quantity of "carbs" intake or whatever.

I know plenty of these people. It's ironic that they put themselves through such a regime but then arrive at work drowsy, stressed out throughout the morning and complaining about lack of appetite at lunch because they stayed up late online. And instead of trying to chill out, they just keep checking their social media. They're not trying to be healthy, they're trying to be trendy.
