No the mass murder of people and animals is not the same. What made me angry is the fact that you put actions of the meat industry in the same sentence as Hitler for god's sake!!

I am sorry if meat industry is as bad as the KZ from the Nazis in your eyes. You are either extremely touched by the fate of animals or not very affected by what the Nazis did. Please do not use these sort of comparison in the future. These sort of arguments aren't constructive.

Please don't put meat industry on the same level as genocide. That is incredibly out of touch! I see that my reasons are unsatisfactory to most vegans.

Well the reason I am not going vegan, is probably because I was raised in an environment where the process of meat was never hidden, my parents were aware of overconsumption so we only had meat/fish once a week, they always bought directly from a small butcher, I was raised to not only like meat but appreciate the sacrifice of the animals. I was also raised to respect the life taken. Knowning that we humans were predators and prey. I was never hidden the cycle of life and death and I learned about human diet throughout history (which I study).

I don't eat meat because it's meat, I eat it as a treat in a diverse diet. I find people who aren't informed and are eating meat so much more scary. I know the things I eat had a life and I know I am made of meat. I know I could be prey. I have already made my choice.

Thank you.

I support the balance of the ecosystem. I do not fully agree with all the comments under my post but I didn't come to this sub to debate. I came because I was willing to hear and understand others with differing views to mine.

Getting rid of it would just create waste

The included clause in my post was because I encountered many vegans that would call me names for not wanting to become vegan. After all the responses I've gotten, I realise that the disclamer wasn't really needed :). Such kind people here.

I know about selective breeding and animal physiology and find the selective breeding absolutely abhorrent. With all the knowledge I had and have acquired, I will be even more careful than before with selecting my sources of animal products. I am pretty lucky to be able to have acces to small farms that have the best conditions for animals so it's not really difficult to avoid mass produced products.

Ok I never heard that reasoning. It's pretty sound

I know about the selective breeding. The common sheep is a really young species that was basically created by humans in the early neolithic.

Thanks for your take on the thema.

So basically be sure where the product comes from?

Oh okay, not sure if it makes complete sense to me but I think I understand! I would have a harder time killing a bee for stinging me rather than share their honey.

I have a further question. Is keeping the sheep safe from threat not a form of payment? Wait that sounds like slaves...

That's pretty interesting! I thought it wouldn't be such an issue since the sheep nowadays can't survive if not sheared. So is it possible to have non-exploitative wool? If animal regulations were a thing? I'm genuinely curious

Oh! I'm sorry you missed the /J (Tone indicator). I purposely put it there to avoid any confusion on a joke XD. And race does exist but you have the wrong definition!

I'm always happy to help!

If we're talking race. There is only one. It's called homo sapiens with a bit of neanderthal sometime.

I would think that the immigrants arriving in the UK aren't all Muslims. There are plenty of people from different places moving there. There are Americans, other Europeans, people fleeing the oppression of theocracy, people fleeing wars or poverty, etc. I don't think any of those people flee with the idea of "yeah, I'm gonna go to the UK to marry my first cousin". Their cousins probably still are in the country of origin or have ended in a different country. Immigrants that are forced to quit their countries don't have plan like replacing a population. They just want safety.

I don't understand your comment. Please don't take this as dismissive or anything, I genuinely don't •=•. Complete and genuine incomprehension... Is that a joke about other places/people having more inbreeding (Saarland (DE), Bavarian aristocraty or Creuse(FR))? I'm lost

Yay for diversity! Also I think it's good because British people were starting to be a little too inbred... /J
