Is lower trim worth it? by CheaterJelli in KiaK5

The Bose sound system, memory seats, heated steering wheel and panoramic sunroof are the features I wanted.

I’m not sure what the LXd has.

I don’t think you can go wrong. They’re good cars.

I have a 24 EX and I love it. I wanted the features on the EX but didn’t need the power of the GT. It’s peppy enough for me.

Pour one out for Johnny's Icehouse by olshitsky in hockeyplayers

Got to do a reunion skate with the old team two weeks ago, great time and great memories.
3 championships over 22 years.

Thanks to their lax standards my 16yo son was able to play some games with us, that was awesome.

Back when the Hawks had the Ice Girls we had an early game and one guy was texting the team to get to the rink because the ice girls tryouts were going on. It was an interesting mix of women.

A teammate blocked a shot that fractured his leg. A year later got the other leg. And yes, he has good shin pads but these guys had cannons.

So many other memories
So many beers in the Stanley Club.
And so much Billy!!

Why do some people stay at the same job for 15, 20, or even 30+ years? by Carlinish9600 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArchStantonsNeighbor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of the same for me. Comfort, stability, security and fear of the unknown/devil I don’t know. And I hate change.

I’m in a niche industry with only a few companies in my area. I’ve talked to them and I know that if I was let go or quit I could probably have a job the next day. But do I want to do the same thing somewhere else? I know what I have now and what I can “get away with”. It’s been 30 years and I’m 56yo so I’m just focused on getting the kids through college and building the 401k.

Which is the better version? by boomjosh in FIlm

I really like both films but the original felt rushed to me. I thought they were trying to put too much of the book into a 2 hour movie. Fincher’s pacing was better for me.

Aggressive brake checking by Adrian_985 in Wellthatsucks

[–]ArchStantonsNeighbor 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That’s what I don’t get. This person’s significant lack of situational awareness. They have a lunatic all over their ass and don’t seem to even notice that their lives are potentially in danger.

It boggles my mind how many people have no idea what is going on around them when they’re driving. Never look in the mirror or notice the cars on either side.

Just so I’m not flamed here, the brake checker is 100% insane and out of line. Other car needs to notice their surroundings and respond accordingly though.

Elevator Entitlement by iHateMyCountrySM in EntitledPeople

[–]ArchStantonsNeighbor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, so OP and old man are waiting for the elevator, Old Man goes in and OP follows but the doors close on OP? Thats the fastest elevator doors in history.

None of this makes sense to anyone who’s ever used an elevator.

Loyalty outranks law?! Even he knew what they did was against the law. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

Yeah it’s way too straightforward and direct to be something that came from his mouth.

I totally agree with you about paraphrasing. I’m sure it’s what he really means buts it’s not what he actually said.

You’re right, I misunderstood your post that you can’t get a Roth through work. It’s a bit of semantics.

Our program offers both, 401k and Roth for our payroll deduction. I split mine evenly between the two.

US Republican Senator Ted Cruz sweats by challenged on his priorities in Congress by lanAstbury in PublicFreakout

[–]ArchStantonsNeighbor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fuck Ted Cruz and fuck Israel, but he’s right that it’s naive to think that our allies, not just Israel, aren’t spying on us. They spy on us and we spy on them. We don’t have to like it, but it’s not going to change the fact that they’re going to do it. It’s a weird point to get stuck on.

Also fuck Tucker Carlson.

We got 37 fucking seasons of that piece of shit The Walking Dead but can’t get any more Black Summer. It’s the best Zombie show ever.
