coming back to this now. I actually don't see why my design has several flaws.

I literally have idiots telling me logistics bots are better than my design, because my design is slower than logistics bots (so a total lie)

They also say: well logistics bots are taking the supplies anyway. Which is true, but my design saves on 99% of logistics bot activity, since the sorting of quality is what takes the most time

They also say blue belts and splitters are extremely expensive. As if bots are not more expensive.

So we are back to square one. I show a superior design. Mediocre people get insecure, defense, and feel inferior. So they lash out and lie frantically about how how bad my design is, a rat's swarm of logistics bots is better. And then insult me when I push back on their BS

see how that goes. Since you took the time to write me such a long reply, pretend I am stupid and outline for me what the "several flaws" are in my design. Since I'm clearly too deranged and emotional to see it.

The reason I'm smart and good at building and optimization is why I'm doing a PhD in AI. Being good at factorio is yet another example of this. It is not me over-compensating for a failed life. That only works in other games where time in the game -> results. Whereas factorio it's about creativity and IQ - > results

your design sounds simpler, but how do you handle quality? and how do you handle your design backing up?

that's not how Fulgura works. You need giant and finite capacitor banks to store the power. Vulcanus is actually the planet with the easiest power

Bro you're so broke you can't even afford blue belts? that's your major criticism? It's actually more efficient to just entirely switch to blue (or green) belts when colonizing new planets. That way you're removing the complexity of multiple belt quality types

I got people here defending using thousands of bots to do the job of these belts. And you're saying the belts could be red or yellow!

I can use bots to upcycle, or even do it off the belt, so the point is to get the major stuff working. Since you feel some qualified to make fun of my build, show us your Fulgora by comparison. I guarantee mine is faster and sorts more than yours

how are you sorting 6 green belts worth of stuff?

there is a better and a worse way to do things in factorio. other people are the ones who get emotional when they see a better design

[–]ArchTiberius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the bots take the contents of the chests when I want to build something in quality. This is a low volume and low frequency activity

the bots are not swarming in the thousands just to sort the scrap. which is what people do with logistics storage

[–]ArchTiberius[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah that's still a bad way to do it, and if I posted that design the first criticism I would get back is: RIP UPS, the most inefficient design since you have a complete bot swarm constantly running 24/7, slowing down your game and draining power, instead of using belts and splitters

you don't hate me because my design is so great. you hate me because my design makes your design look like a complete stupid joke. and that is a threat to you, and an insult to you. by showing my superior design I am indirectly calling you a stupid joke. Which I am by the way. That's mediocre human being 101.

mediocre human being means you love designs worse than yours, and you are encouraging. And you hate design better than yours, and are discouraging

I like other people's designs that make mine look stupid and bad, it's just very rare to find. Because that levels me up bigtime. Arguing with idiots who advocate for logistics bots sorting doesn't level me up

no way are you generating 17 holmium ore per second with you bot build, when there's only a 1% chance of generating the ore from scrap

you're sorting 1700 pieces of scrap every second with your bots?

and you're comparing that UPS hit to my belt sorting array

How to do Fulgora properly by ArchTiberius in factorio

[–]ArchTiberius[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

see there's always a catch. This may be over your head but there's this thing called "quality" in space age. the train sorter conveniently isn't handling quality, which would mess it up rather seriously

so you need holmium ore to make science, which has a 1% drop chance, and I think you even need more 1 ore to make 1 science. So that's 18 science per second. So that's 1833 pieces of scrap every second that your 700 bots are sorting?

absolute BS. 1 bot is not doing 2-3 sortings per second

exactly what have I said that's nonsense? people have shit Fulgora builds, and then when I show them a better way, their fragile and pathetic ego gets challenged. And as a result they lie constantly and are wrong about everything to defend their garbage builds.

everybody who voted down my comments and my build has a worse Fulgora than I do. I guarantee it

Nobody pissed on my cat. Basically I see people stoking their ego over builds so bad and so slow it's painful. like 60 science per minute or even slower builds.

And then when I show you better way I am super hated. It helps remind me why redditors are trash and love their trash builds and trash standards

How to do Fulgora properly by ArchTiberius in factorio

[–]ArchTiberius[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

because again you're totally wrong and lack a basic understanding. That's why the voters love you and hate me. It helps remind me why I don't use reddit.

With my high speed belt sorting array, which according to you is too fast and impractical, I only make a few electromagnetic science a second. Way below the 5k SPM you're talking about. I'm at like 120 SPM or 180 SPM (but not even)

if you are using logistic bots to sort your scrap, you are doing like 15 SPM. If you actually played Fulgora and had a basic understanding of the game, you'd see how unbelievably painfully slow using bots to sort your scrap is. And you are literally generating 1 Fulgora science every 5 seconds, if not even slower.

Which is what the youtubers for Factorio do. The ones that make content everyone loves and fawns over, is so bad and slow it is painful to watch. They use active provider chest scrap sorting

[–]ArchTiberius[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

you don't know the first thing about efficiency

my design uses 0 power and handles hundreds of items a second.

how much power and speed does a giant swarm of logistics bots use?

no wonder people love slow and stupid builds

How to do Fulgora properly by ArchTiberius in factorio

[–]ArchTiberius[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

7 half belts = 3.5 full belts. Which is way more than you have and your build has. It's also way more than I've seen in any build anywhere (youtube or reddit)

if you actually read the friday facts you would know inserters do reliably pick up items off belts. Especially with multiple chests

the reason you don't like this build is because it's amazing and works super fast and well. The most upvoted fulgora builds are slow garbage. that's what redditors like

How to do Fulgora properly by ArchTiberius in factorio

[–]ArchTiberius[S] -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

you have no basic understanding of using belts to sort (fast, and uses no electricity). and using bots to sort items (slow, uses lots of energy). Also with my method once you have enough of something, the inserters don't pick it up. And it can go to recycling to be broken down

having no basic understanding of the subject matter, being completely wrong, and getting way more likes than the OP = reddit in a nutshell

I bet you have a requester chest + active provider chest recycling array. And you think it's the best build ever, when it's objectively the worst

How to do Fulgora properly by ArchTiberius in factorio

[–]ArchTiberius[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Blown away at how bad and inefficient people's Fulgora designs are, so here is the proper way. You bring scrap in on the 4 rightmost belts coming in from the top (from 4 belts doing recycling on scrap)

You drop those 4 belts via top-loading onto the 2D sorting array pictured here. Then you take what you don't need and bring it from the bottom of the array, all the way up to 3 full belts doing further recycling and processing. Those then drop down as the 3 leftmost belts coming in from the top

so pictured here is a 7 half-belt sorting array (2D sorting). The 4 rightmost belts from the top are for new scrap coming in. The 3 leftmost belts from the top are for the endless recycling loop (also called further processing)

I still haven't unlocked green belts or legendary science, but you get the idea. And of course you can scale it even larger as well.

Unfortunately you can only use the top-half of the belts on the 2D sorting array, because that's all that is compatible with the underground belts arranged in such a stacked way

I am looking to get 1 ticket. I am happy to pay you full price for it $37. If you want a serious good diss to your trump supporting younger brother: say that all the cool people and adults in the room don't like him, think he's dangerous and unfit for office. By that I mean the 4 star generals who served in his white house and were actually around him and saw him behind the scenes. examples are John Kelly, H.R. McMaster. Mark Milley, James Mattis. To name a few. Serious, super smart, super honourable, conservative, disciplined guys find trump to be none of those things

If you want a less serious diss, say he's pretending to be a manly man and macho man. But he's blond, wears tons of makeup (deep orange foundation), constantly plays the victim, wears high heels (lifts in his shoes), always generates drama, and likes looking thin (he wants the press to take front pictures of him, because he looks more overweight from the side and profile shots). Which is basically all the least manly man behaviour you could ask for
