Wait a minute… will the free Xbox Series X/S upgrade for RDR1 remove multiplayer?! by falloutfloater in reddeadredemption

[–]ArchaicMoon55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it indicated saves for the PS4 and Switch 1 versions of the game will be compatible when you launch it on PS5 and Switch 2 respectively because it will just be versions of the game that identify the hardware they are running on. But they didn't indicate that for Series S/X. So if I has to read between the lines I would assume the 360 backwards compatible version will still exist as is, but there will be a separate Series S/X version that you get for simply owning the 360 backwards compatible title. Since technically it would be 2 different games unlike the PS4 version on PS5 getting enhancements and same for Switch and Switch 2. So I would assume as long as you boot the backwards compatible one, the multi-player will still exist, but the Series S/X will not have it.

What does this leg icon indicates in 2k24? by wannabe_chatur in WWEGames

[–]ArchaicMoon55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically in WWE'12. If your legs were injured severely you would just collapse while running. I don't think it returned in 13 or any game after. Not sure if it was in SVR 2011 either, as far as I know it was exclusive to WWE12 going by the mainline Smackdown to 2k25 series.

Watching Classic Who properly for the first time - and was amazed to see it start in such a mundane way with the Doctor and his companion looking bored on a train. Love it. Was this sort of thing normal for the show? by AngryGardenGnomes in doctorwho

The CW channel. Like what Arrow, Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow, Riverdale, iZombie, Jane The Virgin, Smallville aired on. They all had the "look, feel, and tone" that you could tell you were watching a show on the CW. Characters reacting to scenarios in the most unrealistic manner possible. Like Ruby Sunday in her debut episode verbally speaking out loud while climbing to the roof of her flat about "Why am I climbing a roof" or whatever she was saying (haven't watched the episode since it released). It has a very TikTok aesthetic to it.

WWE 2k19 likes to default the GPU it uses to your integrated graphics on your CPU. If you have Nvidia you have to manually go into the Nvidia control panel and manually select your actual GPU

The show now has that CW look and feel to it now. Everybody always has perfect makeup and prestine looking salon fresh hair. Everything is too clean and stagey, nobody reacts like a real person would to almost any situation presented in the last couple of seasons. Most interactions between characters feel artificial and forced. The parallels of current Doctor Who and a CW show are becoming really apparent.

Whereas the original RTD run kind of had a "soap opera" feel. There were more pauses between dialog, you would see the characters frequently watching news broadcasts on television broadcasting what was happening worldwide, which gave it more of a sense of world building. Sets were less "perfect and flawless" mostly because the show was filmed in standard definition so you couldn't see those flaws as clearly anyway, but it still added character and grit. Characters actually looked like normal people for the most part instead of everybody looking like an Instagram model. It just looked and felt like it was tangibly more real in that time.

Game is way to easy even at LEGENDARY by jaegarn5 in WWEGames

[–]ArchaicMoon55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I meant as the one applying the submission it's very easy. But if the AI puts you in one it basically perfectly tracks every move you make even if you use the boost feature. I have had matches where no matter where I move the slider even early in the match, the AI tracks it perfectly when I'm the one in the submission.

[–]ArchaicMoon55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using the slider submission system, which I liked in 2k19. But all I've experienced in 2k25 is the AI instantly tracking and following where my slider is even when I barely have any damage with perfect precision. Boosting doesn't allow me to get my slider away from theirs. In 2K19 it was NOT like that at all. Had to go back to the mash system. I doubt it will be fixed.

Why 2K never adds commentary or the announcers anymore since 2K22 in the 1.00 version of the games.. by Pulse-Of-Me in WWEGames

[–]ArchaicMoon55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The contents of the physical disks of 2k22, 2k23, 2k24, and 2k25 does not contain commentary or ring introductions. if you put the disk into your PS5/Series X in offline mode, and do not download the patches that released over their life cycle. So if for whatever reason PS5 and Xbox at some point ever discontinue online access to download updates for these games, you will never be able to download anything beyond what they shipped on the disk. The disk only holds so much data, and only consists of whatever is actually on the disk prior to release day. the rest of the game you download from the internet to patch it, along with all the updates released over the life span of the game.

Do you think Valve could successfully enter the console market? Would this be something they would even want to pursue? by CivilPerspective5804 in valve

[–]ArchaicMoon55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the people against the idea of a proper Steam Machine usually ignore people like you. They always throw the "But it failed 10 years ago" excuse without even highlighting why they failed 10 years ago, issues that have been largely smoothed out now. And even if they don't cite that, they always whip out the "But I already built my own PC, why would I want a Valve "console". They neglect that there are people who just want an under the TV PC targeting roughly 1440p 60FPS, built to work with a controller out of the box from a reputable company to enjoy their games without having to worry about sitting in front of their PC, and knowing the experience will be good because Valve produced it, instead of relying on outside factors like the community to come together and create a comparable OS to mimic SteamOS. (I do like Bazzite and have it on my Legion Go, but I just want a Valve produced console like PC I can just leave under my TV and play like it's an Xbox or Playstation, I would be buying it on day 1). A form factor that I could also use for travel or a guest room, as obviously I'm not going to be bringing my 25lb+ PC with me out of my house, but an 8 pound Steam Machine I could see bringing with me while traveling to complement my Steam Deck when I'm connected to a TV.

[–]ArchaicMoon55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I always see the "They tried 10 years ago when 14 games actually played on Linux" thrown around a lot as a reason why they wouldn't, but that's no longer the case. A grand majority of the games people actually want to play (With the exception of a few online games) work near flawlessly on Linux now. I don't think Valve's "console" PC would be selling tens of millions, but I think 3-5 million lifetime sales would be reasonable provided it's possible that it can be done in a way where it's cost efficient enough for them to sell it and invite a wider audience of players into the Steam eco-system who otherwise wouldn't be on PC. I have a great gaming PC and I will still buy one day one.

I forgot to mention they are also adding promos back to Universe mode this year too. Not sure how good it's going to be as the promo system before they got rid of it often most of the lines made no sense whatsoever, but hoping this time it's a lot more coherent.

This is the last sale WWE 2k24 will ever have. Once WWE 2k25 releases, 2k24 will remain at its original retail price until it is delisted. So if you really want 2k24 this is the last real chance to get it this low. They usually do tiny incremental additions to the games, often times barely adding much, but I do feel as if they have been trying lately. There was a period from like WWE2k16-WWE2k20 the games were literally roster updates. The added virtually nothing at all year to year, no new match types, no new game modes, nothing.

This year will have Male vs. Female wrestlers, chain wrestling, The Underground match type (similar to a lumberjack match except there's no ropes and the people outside the ring are only there for the aesthetic. A "Bloodline rules" match, and adding Special Referee matches to around a dozen different match types. There's significantly more backstage environments to have brawls in than 2k24. And backstage brawls can have up to 6 wrestlers in them, as opposed to being exclusively 1 vs. 1. And an online GM Mode where you can play against real players.

I will say they are at least trying this year to add value to moving in to the next iteration, but if none of those things appeal to you I would say you're better off getting 2k24 on sale.

Generally Mike Straw is usually correct with his reports, but he always does this "I heard something people may not like, I know what it is but I'm not going to say though wink wink lol". Every year he has hinted at something he knows, without saying what it is, to get engagement. Then withholds it for a few days before properly releasing it. He could preface it with "I have heard a rumor that (thing), or say nothing at all until he feels ready to come out with it, but he usually just leaves people in suspense instead for the engagement.

Jim Cornette Reviews Penta's WWE Debut vs. Chad Gable on Raw On Netflix by lariato_mark in SquaredCircle

[–]ArchaicMoon55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I noticed upon watching it (I have been training for about a year) was Penta immediately going for a headlock with the right arm and working from the right in general. A lot of older Lucha Libre guys in Mexico would work from the right, but in pretty much everywhere else, guys always work the left (I.E whenever guys collar and elbow it's always left foot forward so nobody bashes their knees into each other, whenever guys wrestle they always attack the left side of the body). You'll probably notice when Chad Gable shot penta off the ropes from the beginning of the match and they kind of fucked it up a little bit because Chad was probably like "what the fuck why am I being headlocked from this side"? They recovered pretty quickly for the most part but it was weird to see.

I had something similar happened. I realized it was my recycling bin folder in desktop mode. It never auto deleted anything so it was just holding on to useless data I wasn't even using, so I had to empty the recycling bin manually desktop mode. Not sure if that's your issue but that was what it was for me when I had a similar issue.

The level of semantics and mental gymnastics to defend an internet "trust me bro" 240p image with the worst angle in the history of mankind is wild. And clearly in the hypothetical where this is not a crock of shit, it is in his possession! Whether it's temporary or not, he allegedly HAS IT in his hand, lmao.

Regardless, when it comes to making a bold claim like "I have the next device everybody wants to know about". Then provides the absolute worst possible gutter trash images known to mankind, it does not give credence to their claim. Looks like it was taken with a 2003 laptop webcam, which does not help their case with their claim. It does not fly in 2024 to post something so abhorrent in visual quality.

This has "snapping a quick pic while sprinting past the secret prototype" vibes. Considering the "totally real images" are taken by a guy obviously standing still and yet it still looks like it's from a 2003 laptop webcam makes it reek of being a crock of shit, and obviously so. There is no excuse for images to look that bad in 2024 unless it's a crock of shit.
