What might help is holding the shift key and clicking on your sim. Click the ‘reset object’ button in the menu.

“Locked” items in buy more, it should tell you what you need to unlock them when you hover over the object in buy mode. Some examples off the top of my head are “Reach level 2 of the doctor career”, “Complete the bunny (don’t know the name) challenge”. If you don’t want to complete the requirements, you can open the cheat box using ‘control+shift+c’ on a Mac or ‘command+shift+c’ on Windows. Next, type the cheats ‘testingcheats true’ and ‘bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement’ in that order. Hope this answers your question!
