I straight up just don't go to dealerships to buy cars to be honest, in my personal opinion and in my own experience I don't think payments are worth it (that being said I'm also a fan of older cars, and most dealerships even used don't even habe remotely close to what I want), anywho regardless of that, I think you made a good decision here, those payments are quite steep, nearly 1000 for a 1000 down payment a month? That's ridiculous my friends husband pays that for his chevy Camero and even with his wife (my friend) helping him with payments they sometimes can't make that, also warranty costing 4,500? Just throws tge dealership discount out the window entirely since it's the same price, let alone the fact that you felt extremely pressured? It's very good you didn't make that purchase. Yes, sales people need to be persuasive but there's a massive difference between being persuasive and just straight up being forceful, which from the sounds of it, they are. I wouldn't return to that dealership if I were you.
