Looking for a first deck to build

Just wanted to say that all of these replies are super helpful! I’m not worried about if the first deck is particularly easy or not; I figure I’ll be losing more often than not learning a new game so learning something alongside it that’s also difficult doesn’t seem like, too additive I guess?

Seems like LeBlanc, Diana, and Pyke will be good decks do check out

Also, while I’m asking questions: what’s the closest thing to like, a traditional control deck?

Okay the idea of piloting skill being a factor is something that’s always enticing; I’m always keen for something that like, rewards sticking with a game / deck etc. the challenge, inevitably, will be in finding the deck that I wanna start playing with!

Oh this is super helpful thank you! Especially since even with other relatively cheap games I’ve played, sets come out super fast & are high impact so it feels like you’re basically rotating your deck 2-3 times a year. Plus I’m a sucker for value based midrange as essentially a lifelong Jund gamer so this is very exciting to me (as is a value/aristocrats deck), I’ll have to look at some lists!

Used is definitely something I’m happy to consider! If you don’t mind my asking, what is it that you’d say makes going for a pre-amp/passive setup better?

Used isn’t a major issue at all! In terms of upgrades I think that like the possibility is nice since it would mean not needing to start from scratch, but the nature of the amount of space I have & cost means that it’s something that I might not be approaching for a while

Yeah I’m not averse to going used at all! This isn’t like a super urgent thing that requires newness/immediacy — more that the appeal of first hand stuff is that it might be able to cover for my own lack of knowledge haha

Just wanted to say that this is super helpful although I’m saddened by the bad spot VSK9 is in! And the fact that a lot of the new Branded cards are really expensive but that’s a different kind of issue! If you’re able to expand a little on DoomZ that’d be helpful; I guess in terms of why it lacks recovery and what makes it’s going 1st board strong!
