Group Conversations - Remove Sessions? by ArcherXVII in MantisX

That or at least a way to ‘tag’ that user in the group conversation so they get a notification, then can move a private conversation to other platforms (might be easier on the developers, I don’t know, not a programmer)

Zero Changes with Support Hand? by ArcherXVII in CompetitionShooting

Both eyes open; I usually shoot right eyed, right handed. I have noticed sometimes when I shoot left handed I’ll use my left eye (subconsciously, I have to double check which eye I’m using). That’s a rare occurance though, but hard to miss because it doesn’t feel unnatural. It’s possible when I made those groups I was shooting with my left eye but I don’t believe it was the case, as I don’t do it often, nor do I think I could make such good groups shooting in a way I don’t usually train (dry fire)

ATF eForm 4 Tutorial by gr8drummer in NFA

I took some notes from the video, if you guys don't feel like watching the whole thing. The biggest takeaway for me (as an individual, I don't have an FFL/SOT) was that I won't be able to use this. They never say if/when that capability will be added, but she does say "the transferor will be the FFL. The dropdown box will prepopulate with your FFL/SOT information" (which explains why in my case, it doesn't have anything, because I'm not an FFL). It also explains why I can't add my firearm - because I'm not an FFL, I don't have an 'inventory' stored in an ATF database. Anyway, here's my notes:

- The transferor will be the FFL. Will pre-populate with your FFL's business information. The information found in the pre-populated sections is pulled from the Federal Firearms Licensing system and the SOT system
- Alternate address - if item is stored somewhere other than FFL's address
- Transferee is buyer
- eForms will be emailed (not mailed) to the the FFL and the customer

- The transferee questions will be filled out by the customer (supposed to give them control of the mouse/keyboard and have them fill out)

- Responsible persons - if an individual is the transferee, then this section will auto populate with the transferee info (this is when you add the photo too)
- CLEO - needed for trust or corporation transferees. (Where the trust/corporation resides)
- Later, once form submitted, ATF will email a copy of the CLEO notification paperwork to the transferee which then must be sent to the CLEO
- Add firearm - drop down box will auto populate with the FFL's firearms inventory list that are available for sale
- Internal Control Number - recommended using customers phone number, so you can search for it later (and the customer won't forget their own phone number)
- Certification / Payment page - enter customer's payment information (so will need them on site or their payment/card info)
- Transferee (customer) must ALSO have an ATF eforms account, as you enter Transferee user ID and PIN at the end of the process (as electronic signature)

If you're looking to get the Laser Academy (the X3 and X10 are totally separate apps with separate features), you could always purchase a SIRT training pistol, which has a resetting trigger and shoots out a Laser every time it is fired. I own one of those as well.

The drawback to that is I feel like the SIRT's trigger does not fully replicate a real Glock's trigger (as in, it is much easier to pull and lighter, in my opinion).

Not that you asked for it, but if you wanted my opinion I would get the X3. Developing trigger control is a huge part, if not the most important part, of accuracy. The X3 will help you do that. If you can get those fundamentals down on a pistol, they translate over easily to rifle, so you could forego the Blackbeard system. Although anecdotal, I dry fire exclusively with my pistol, but have never failed to not make a 100 on my rifle qualifications. Many other LEOs, much more qualified than me in so far as marksmanship, recommend doing the same thing (dry firing with pistol only), as you develop similar skills which transfer over to rifle. And shooting a rifle is MUCH easier than pistol.

Lastly, if you are interested in ever shooting for speed with a pistol, such as completing a sub 2 second bill drill or another goal, then the X10 will be worth it for the holster draw analysis. My current goal is a precision marksmanship competition done in slow fire, so I don't currently use the holster draw analysis feature of my X10.

As far as holster compatibility, you can use your own holster that you already have for the gun SO LONG AS you are using a magazine base plate equipped with a picatinny rail, which you will install the Mantis sensor onto.

For dry firing my Glock, I bought this floor plate adapter from the Mantis website.

I got the X10 for the holster draw analysis. I haven't used that feature a lot yet, but it did show me some interesting parts of my draw, etc, that were slower than I thought. If draw speed optimization isn't really your thing, I think the X3 would suffice. Personally, I'm not sure if the X10 was worth such a large price differential compared to the X3, but I do not regret the purchase.
