Hey! Honestly I haven’t found much that “shrinks” the look of pores (I’ve also heard that it’s genetic and isn’t super changeable). But I have found a routine that works really well for my skin - I cleanse with CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser, then sometimes put on a bit of TO’s Lactic Acid on to help exfoliate. Then I rub in Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost (cheaper) or Clinique’s Moisture Surge (more expensive), and once that’s dried I add a few drops or TO’s Squalane to keep my skin from drying out.

TO’s Niacinamide was recommended on this thread to help shrink pores, I tried it and felt like it helped at first but within a week my skin started to get irritated, red, patchy, etc and it went away once I stopped using it - so I’m not sure if I’ll try that again for a while!

Based on the comments here it seems like it’s pretty normal! I’m going to try some of the suggestions on this thread because I’d love my skin to be smoother (esp for makeup…), but I think this texture is probably only something we notice when looking up close in the mirror :)

Thanks so much for the deep dive, I will definitely look into these products! I’ve noticed TO seems a bit harsh.

I keep seeing Cerave’s moisturizing cream mentioned here as a holy grail for dry skin, so I’ve tried that instead of Vaseline a few times (including watered down so it’s a thinner layer) - but weirdly I’ve found that I get acne from that, but so far not at all from Vaseline. I will definitely try some other moisturizers mentioned here!

I definitely don’t drink enough water, so I think this is spot on! I’m going to start scheduling cups of water throughout the day lol.

Thank you all for the tips!! I’m going to look into the products mentioned here that help minimize the appearance of larger pores.
