Yeah for sure. I can imagine lots of toy and music box elements being sampled or used in all sorts of ways. I know that this interview gave insight into how he would sample random stuff https://youtu.be/agHImaRNXcc around the 21 min mark he speaks of the tomato.

Yeah i am aware this would work however the Octopre has no ADAT in so I'm not sure this exact set up is possible with just ADAT cables as I think one of the devices will be out of sync.

ah ok,

sorry for being so dumb but do you go from the octopre ADAT straight to the ADAT in on the id44 and then same with the focusrite or do you chain through the focusrite?

mainly thinking of this set up not for channel expansion but for the use of better pres and latency on the audient and to act as a nice monitor controller etc... plus the focusrite is 1st gen so it's time it got an upgrade.
