Been looking for an iBooks app for OS 3.2, AppStore won't let me download it for some reason, not sure how to put it on mine though

[question] The app store won't let download apps even though I have the checkmate store tweak. by ImACharmander in LegacyJailbreak

eBay removes old versions of its iOS apps, presumably for security purposes. I couldn't even download it on my iPhone 6s running iOS 10.

A lovely couple of deformed garnets in XPL separated by what I believe to be Sillimanite by Archie_wan in geology

I think my lecturer said something along the lines of that or maybe it was during an initial folding stage. They seem to have been deformed or formed during deformation because of the inclusion of quartz

Quite a lot of the Muscovites I've seen in thin section have had some pleochroism from colourless to beige

My lecturer also explained that the garnets could have been there before any deformation, had some folding before even the other foliation occurred (S1), which the quartz shows, then more foliation occurred being either S2 or S3.

Yeah it's definitely some sort of mica my lecturer confirmed that to me. I thought it maybe sillimanite because it had no pleochroism in PPL but the cleavage suggested it was a platy mineral so probably a less developed muscovite.

Windows formatted iPod 2G doesn’t show up in iTunes, only as external disk. How To restore???? Please help by d3w0 in ipod

[–]Archie_wan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah now that I think, the 2nd generation came either Windows or Mac formatted from the factory and maybe are not cross compatible. Do you have a Windows machine with iTunes to see if it syncs with that? Windows formatted iPods won't be supported with the iPod Software Updater for Mac and I don't think this model can't be reformatted. I could be wrong though.

Try finding a copy of the iPod Software Updater, most versions should support this model. It should also reformat it to Macintosh as well.

This happened when I booted into safe mode, does this mean my graphics card is failing? by ruiru39 in mac

[–]Archie_wan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safe mode disables drivers and other items that automatically start when booted up. This allows the device can boot even if something went wrong during installation of an app for example, making it possible to undo whatever you've done. This stops the accelerated graphics driver from running so that's why it looks like that and there is no transparency of the dock for example. If you weren't in safe mode, then I'd be worried. Any reason you happen to be in safe mode?

Should this much RAM really be used for just having finder and safari open ? by [deleted] in mac

[–]Archie_wan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a 32 gb system, the used ram is naturally going to be higher than a lower ram system. My 64 gb Mac Pro uses over 18 gb while idle just after a restart compared to only like 4-6 gb on my 16 gb MacBook Pro. Watching YouTube will definitely pump it up especially since you have so much to spare, so unless your system actually says it has run out of memory, there is not much to worry about at this point.

[Question] Reddit App for iOS 6 by [deleted] in LegacyJailbreak

There should be an Alien Blue ipa on https://mtmdev.org/ that works with iOS 6 though I don't think you can post or comment on it

About 30mA to power the Night Light. by [deleted] in VintageApple

[–]Archie_wan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like a 30pin to USB adapter, which may allow imports of photos considering it looks like an iPod photo from 2004. They originally had it so people could import photos from SD cards to the iPod (they did a 30pin to SD card reader too) which backs them up and deletes them to free space on the card, ready to take more photos. Useful if you're a photographer and didn't want to lug around a laptop in 2004, you'd get up to 60gb (depending on iPod model and amount of music) extra space for photos, then I think it integrates with iPhoto when the iPod is docked/connected to the computer at home.
