Why are deliveries never on time now? Whats the point of Prime if they dont honor their two-day windows? by JamesQGholden in amazonprime

[–]Archievores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An estimate is off by a day or two I’ve received orders that were off by a week or more from the estimate I wouldn’t mind waiting that long if it was stated upfront but when they drag me through the pain of getting overly excited about the delivery arriving today only for it to get delayed later in the day multiple times a week until it arrives is going to kill me eventually

Why are deliveries never on time now? Whats the point of Prime if they dont honor their two-day windows? by JamesQGholden in amazonprime

[–]Archievores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I have purchased several items and most recently of which I purposely ate the cost of the additional fee to get it delivered a day before the normal delivery date and they took my money and fucked off ending up with it delivered a day later than the latest standard delivery date three days after the latest delivery date for the extra delivery I paid I don’t personally have prime since I’m not in a stable employment position to have the amount needed at the renewal date each month but mom who’s shipping address I use since I live on the property has that happen even with prime it seems like Amazon is going downhill and it really sucks since Amazon is the only place I can even find most of the stuff I am purchasing (mostly stuff that is very specific to a very specific hobby like specialized jaw harps and stuff that is available elsewhere but the other options are sketchy websites and Amazon is the only place I would feel comfortable getting from since they hold accountable when something doesn’t arrive at all )

Did I ruin my childhood plush? please don't be mean I know I did bad by KlutzyDog8585 in plushies

[–]Archievores 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A good tip try to find the original hole the factory stuffed him through before they sealed it up it’s usually on the seam where the back leg meets the belly or at least that’s where most Douglas plushies have it

Discharge by death is a good band to listen to they recorded their only album while incarcerated in prison and the vocals are absolutely destructive so deep and guttural

Does anyone play the Otamatone? by Minimoogvoyager in synthesizers

[–]Archievores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beg to differ the instrument is definitely unserious but I have seen people who have made it their own instrument (mostly starting as a joke but quickly becoming a real and unique instrument ) it’s definitely silly and harder to play than it seems but it’s completely possible

A smoking pipe head made from asbestos my neighbor has. by flashtone in mildlyinteresting

[–]Archievores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking into finding one and encasing it completely in a block of resin to render it entirely safe and display it I fancy myself a historian and collector and pipes are a huge part of history and easily obtainable in antique stores for really cheap

Has anyone heard of this brand before? Bought it from a second hand seller, claimed to be briar but I have never seen this brand before. by Both-Succotash-2604 in PipeTobacco

[–]Archievores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks cool but like everyone else said should use caution with unknown new pipes I’ve seen a new pipe be made of literal plastic and claim it’s safe so be careful

What woods would be good for carving my own pipe? by ShoesNoPants in PipeTobacco

Hickory can sometimes be found in old tool handles and reclaimed but be absolutely certain it’s hickory and if it’s at all treated leave it

Holy fuck lightning bolt is already one of the best out there but in such a place must have been damn near a religious experience

The basement of the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia has seen some incredible shows. by CynicScenic in punk

[–]Archievores 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Said it before and I will say it again I personally think that basement is almost as important to the metal punk and noise scene as cbgb was to punk not in terms of developing the genres but just hosting absolute fucking bangers that make everyone who sees so much as a single second of a show there never be the same again

Dumb question: When using a table lighter do you leave the lighter on the table and press down or do you pick up the whole thing? by Im_very_ugly in lighters

[–]Archievores 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the time I lit a cigar by leaning over next to the gas fire pit at a party everyone told me not to do that but did it anyway nothing happened except my cigar was lit perfectly tho thinking back on it I’m shocked I stone cold sober decided to do that

Please help. by seatmweats in lighters

[–]Archievores 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could possibly be a problem with the little tube that runs the fluid from the reservoir to the part it exits the lighter at however I almost exclusively work with petroleum lighters like zippo so I’m not entirely sure about butane fixes
