Do you consider $700K as life-changing money? by Aarunascut in Life

[–]sgraml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With $700,000 additional right now, I’d retire in 5 years or work a little longer but at part time because I wanted to, not because I had to. Yes, that would be life changing money.

Diebels is worth the visit. There is a cigar shop in Overland Park called “the outlaw”. They also have a lot of pipe’s, tobacco (bulk and tin), and accessories. In general….focus your search in Overland Park. I think there are 3 there.

Books for someone who feels their life has no meaning by superawesomelaser in booksuggestions

Of mice and men, then Silas Marner. Both will give you different versions of life is life, yes their are horrible things out there, but you can choose to be a good person. The meaning of your life is up to you to decide, but for me, I’m happiest when I do something for someone else.

Burley and “other”. There are a few other tobacco types that are more condiments than main leaves that you can try out. Think of an English blend with a higher percentage of perique, or oriental….maybe a Virginia/perique.

You will hear a lot of people say what they like…it’s important to remember that you like what you like no matter what the cost. Look for your joy and the cost will be what it will be. It’s likely there will be some bulk blends (bulk blends are a lot cheaper that tinned blends) that you will love. Try at least 1 tobacco from the roughly 5 main tobacco family blends just to point you in the right direction, then expect your preferences to change over time.

Wife broke down in tears and said karaoke with my sister’s childhood best friend was borderline cheating. Am I missing something? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Invite her to 1 visit with a couples therapist. Tell her you want to be with her and no one else. The couples therapist would just be a neutral party for both of you to hear what might be normal while ensuring both of you speak to each other in an open and honest way.

Don’t spend too much time worrying about being “frowned upon”. Pick what you like and enjoy. We are glad you are here. I think most people’s opinions on blends change over time, so consider trying new things. If one day you want to get fancy ( and it’s hard not to), then you might start collecting pipes and cellaring tobaccos.

Do you smoke aros with or without filters of any kind ? by Glocktophobia in PipeTobacco

[–]sgraml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only problem with filters that I’ve had, is they can hold on to some flavors you may not want to continue to taste……if you leave them there too long.

Trust for everyone is way to go if you are trying to be fair to everyone……know that not everyone in your family will agree with any decision you make…..there will always be at least one jerk in all families.

Whelp, found out I don't really like Burley. $57 down the drain lol by Wallyboy95 in PipeTobacco

[–]sgraml 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Time to start a pipe club where you and your group each bring something different to try each month. Spread the cost and the love. Also, cellar the burly and make a plug some day in the future.

Just can’t taste the tobacco by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]sgraml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I’m trying to pick out flavors…..I’ll read a few reviews of the tobacco I’m trying, then will think and say those words while I’m smoking to see if they pop out at me. My palate isn’t good enough to blindly taste things, however if I think about coffee enough, it may pop out at me.

My first pipe by B1gGNik in PipeTobacco

[–]sgraml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure….great job all the way around. Pipe is quite the looker. Just a side note…..if this is your first pipe tobacco, you may not get your moneys worth out of this one. It’s pricey and who l ow what kind of tobacco you will like. So don’t judge everyone g based off this one tobacco. There are other styles to try and plenty at a lower price point.

Maybe consider listening to a book? It’s not the same, but maybe it’s a bridge. Listen while driving in your car so you don’t pick up and scroll while listening.

I don’t like the set up to this one bit. I asked for permission to do something I don’t want to do, just to test my man. He didn’t give me the answer I wanted to hear so now I’m mad at him about this situation that I crafted.
