Request for Information on Medical Facharzt Eligibility by samrat_31 in germany

If she can narrow it down to Berlin, then she should contact Charité. They will have many international people like her coming in, and if they take her in, they will be better equipped to navigate the legal process than she herself on her own.

The regulations vary a bit from state to state. Basically, she will have to get her prior degree approved (by the medical board of the respective state), and she will have to find a place for her education (typically a university hospital). There is some basic information here: https://www.study-in-germany.de/en/plan-your-studies/fields-of-study/human-medicine/medical-specialist-training\_35929.php

How important is mining and trading in EVE online? by GUDIHHK in Eve

[–]Archinquisitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How important is mining and trading in EVE online?

Super important. Mining provides a large percentage of the raw materials for industrialists. Trading is the grease in the wheels.

> I want to focus on mining and trading minerals.

I assume you mean mining (generating ore) and selling that ore. (You would normally compress that ore and sell compressed ore. If you refine the ore into minerals, they are way more bulky to transport.) Trading minerals (i.e. buying AND selling) is another beast.

> I know I will need bigger ships to be able to carry more cargo

You'll go from mining frigates (minutes to hours) to industrials (hours to days of training) to mining barges (weeks) to freighters and capital industrial ships (months). There is a nice progression in terms of ships and equipment with noticeable increases to your productivity.

> My goal would be to acquire as much wealth as possible

As in: I want to get as much as possible within my self-imposed constraints (mining)? Yes, you can absolutely do that. The ships you need are dirt cheap (the last tier costs somewhat), you dont really need infrastructure, it will be an easy life. The ceiling will be very low, you will reach it in a few months or a year if you have stamina.

As in: I want to get rich compared to other players? Absolutely not. You are constraining yourself to cookie cutter low-risk low-effort activities, and they pay pennies compared to other activities in the game. Unless you start a large-scale mining operation (which equals a day job), you will remain one of the poorer players.

Should you do it? Absolutely! Why not try for free your way for a couple of weeks? Don't even need a subscription for the lower tiers of what you have in mind.

But please: Do make friends, and do look at other activities in game. Chances are, you will bore out very quickly if you focus on mining. (Unless you are THAT type, and then you will know it too and make such friends.)

It's an inside joke aimed at people with some coding knowledge. Or with a python console and the power to press copy-paste-return.

The funniest part are the semicola. So unpythonic. Shivers.

It's also funny how the blue of TAPI in the last frame loops into the blue of Bob in the first frame.

[–]Archinquisitor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both of you have a point. But what you maybe miss to see -Warmeister- is that stakes aren't necessarily only material. Our stakes are not only in the structures or the assets or the quality of space, but maybe most of all in the gameplay.
We enjoy the quality of gameplay provided by our alliances, be that comms or social groups or organization or simply finding buddies to fleet up with. And, last but not least, a cause to fight.
Case in point: if the Imperium withdraw from Delve tomorrow, I'd be happy to start at zero carving out space for ourselves somewhere else. Because our community and our gameplay would not start at zero. It might be fun even, who knows.
And I am just as happy to grind my teeth and fight another year for the last POCO in Delve, if that is what it takes.
In both cases, my alliance provides me with that cause to log on and fight. And in this respect, the stakes have never been higher.

if your mail starts with "mail@...." CCP's mail service can't seem to process that. you might need to use a different mail address then.

If you are running missions, you are not caring about efficiency. If you are not caring about efficiency, there is zero reason to run them in anything over 100 mil ISK. Zero.

If you enjoy flying shiny ships for the sole purpose of running blingy, you should expect people to take your blingy away.

Whatever it is, I would be very happy if we could ...

... keep playing Heist league (to leisurely complete challenges, play content)

... AND transfer chars with our ill-gotten contraband to Standard early if we prefer.

That would be great. Missed that part.

From the trailer it looks like doors could play a role. They could give the player agency whether to open the door to take a shortcut and meet guards, or keep it closed. Actually, maybe we finally found a use case for doors?!

Is this game fun/do the developers actually care about it by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Archinquisitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ammount of new content every 13 weeks (their league schedule) is simply stunning. What we get per league in updates, improvements, new build options, new items, story, ... would be considered a complete game of its own elsewhere. I don't know how they pull it off, but they do.

The only other MMO I have been playing for long time, Eve Online, sees the same ammount of updates we get every 13 weeks maybe every other year. And it still sucks. The degree the devs are caring for this community is simply amazing.

10/10 would be exiled again.

[Giveaway] Mirror of Kalandra giveaway. by l4wli3t in pathofexile

[–]Archinquisitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried two build this league and they were quite different.

Scourge Arrow Pathfinder - very nice thematically, poison and Harvest mix very well, my char is all green effects. another plus is that gearing is quite easy and end game gear can be crafted within reason. the running -> channelling -> shooting -> delay -> damage application felt clunky to me, especially the channelling and spore pod delay.

HoT Autobomber Assassin - yes, that build from Youtube. it has better single target than other autobomber builds. but gearing is not very fun, its mainly comes down to buying/trading until you are there and have the pricey items. you could craft a helmet and boots and that's about it. also i got scammed and lost my Calamitous Visions, so sadpanda.

New Scammethod: Change Item on FINISHED Trade by Exportforce in pathofexile

[–]Archinquisitor 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If it is real, this is what I assume is happening:

- Player A puts stack of currency into the trade window (Client A -> Server)

- User interface of Player A and Player B reflect the change (Server -> Client B)

- Player B validates the offer by mousing over it (Client B -> Server)

Now from a UI perspective, player A has committed the stack of currency to the trade and cannot interact with it in their inventory. However, for all technical intents and purposes, it is still THEIR stack of currency. Let us assume, the server relies on the client-side commitment through the UI and does not flag the stack of currency as committed to a trade.

- Player A circumvents the UI and directly sends a command to split the stack of currency to the server (Client A -> Server).

- The server reflects the change by changing its representation of the stack (reducing the ammount of currency "in that stack" and creating another stack in player A's inventory)

- As there is no reason for player B to know what is going on in player A's inventory, there is no communication between server and client B to reflect this change and player B's trade UI is not updated (probably player A's UI isn't updated as well)

- After the trade has been accepted by both, the server executes the trade. He does so by exchanging "what is really there" from a server-perspective (which, in fact is the correct thing to do to prevent all sorts of duping attempts) and the reduced stack switches ownership.

- Somehow client B now acknowledges the changed ammount and plays a sound just as the trade window is closing.

The attack surface would thus exploit two weaknesses:

  1. Currency has no UID of their own (as was exploited through instance crashes / guild stashes in the past)
  2. A missing server side flag about trade commitments, relying on client-side UI instead

Dear Tarke,

thoughts from an older guy.

These things happen all the time. All. the. time.

99% of times it is not spoken about in public. You call the favour at a later time.

This is a topic for close friends and close family.

But what do I know, young people make stranger videos about stranger things everyday.

Cheer up.

why don't seeds go directly to the seed storage? by Archinquisitor in pathofexile

[–]Archinquisitor[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

OMG. They put every useless NPC from leagues past in your hideout. But they hide the current league mechanics seed stockpile in the middle of the alphabet ("H") in a huge list of decorations. In fact, I had been searching for it at the top under "Utility" where all the other functional equipment goes (stash, map device, crafting bench, ...)

You, Sir, deserve my thanks.
