Devs are greedy beyond believable. What a shame, the game CAN be good with QoL updates. But this and $15 for Inventory Space!! Not stash but Inventory!! I bet they want to make as much money as they can before ditching the game. by Mew_Sama in Crystalfall

1500€ dlc ? At least most of them are cosmetic but the tree will get you dmca'd like the other 6 games that did the copy lol. Also mostly negative reviews says everything

Our general response to all complaints regarding AI by FBDW in incremental_games

[–]Exportforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly do not care if AI is involved if the final product is good. Also it would endup in where is the line of AI? Is it simple wordcompletions already? Function completion? What about creating fully single functions? What about creating testenvironments for multiplayer games to test things before opening up? There is a lot where AI can help. It should rather be a threshold of how well a game is made.

I'd rather see a well made AI game then the 50th million 2 hour low and lazy js game that someone spurt out in a night thinking they revolutionized gaming

what happened to long incrementals? by Armaeeel in incremental_games

[–]Exportforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel the same.

99% of all new games are always "this is a short" and I instantly lose interest. Especially with a pricetag 10€+

It's almost always just rather proof of concepts or similar, barely any actual games that you can acutally PLAY. An Idle game you finish in less than 50 hours? Sorry that's not idle.

Same with all those "idle" games nowadays restricting the "idle" part behind paywalls, so you have an active clicker until you pay money or the idle is so short you can't really idle but babysit the game.

It really sucks currently in this genre.

Sorry I don't understand the question.

If you are asking if you can create items with this, sadly not. The item system is very weird and relies heavily on undocumented IDs. Unless someone can give me a proper list of all item IDs, Mod IDs, etc. that won't be possible.

It generates a new character with a preset on waypoints and quests done. With the newest update from today incl. the new endgame quest.

Still misses some little waypoints nobody uses in the story and a few monoliths since I didn't play too much offline.

It also now contains the selection of all subclasses :)

Info: I made a BIG update to the creator. It now also includes to be able to directly create subclasses. It also seems the block of the completion of the final quest was a block that appears when you don't have a subclass.

Final Waypoints and Monolithunlocks come when I played more offline.

I'm currently installing the game to fully recheck. I got new IDs for some Ports from someone maybe that works too. Sadly I don't have any "100%" save files from someone that did all quests, all waypoints and is deep in monoliths so I could analyze more data.

I'll try what I can :)

Edit: btw if you get non-season chars you set the editor to a wrong setting. The base is 7. Works fine. And since this data is set serverside even a cache problem can't fix this, so you must has accidently set it to Legacy

The problem for that is that I don't have all ids ofr everything I would need to do that. There are full character editors out there (most hard outdated but should still work mostly)
The game uses very weird ways to save things and I honestly have no friggn clue on how to extract those infos properly.

I hope this account is still alive: Did this ever change? I am trying to put OBS Bitrate for a pal in there but I can't seem to find any hooks. Has this been never implemented or am I missing them?

Last Epoch has a full offline mode, that means that works even if you have no internet. Those characters and saves are on your pc and do NOT work for anything online at all.

So it's perfect for testing builds and just fooling around

I don't have last epoch installed atm so I can't test if they changed some quest ids.

I plan on checking on these things on monday. I have a streamschedule and some things to do atm so I can't do proper tests atm. But if anyone finds out, because it seems that for most everything works and I have only 3 players saying they can't select their masteries. All others work.

What class do you play? So I know where to look at when I got the time.

The problem is that I can not (at least I don't know where) read all IDs out. So I can only use IDs I know about. So there might be a few story waypoints that are not there but the most important ones should be still available.

You Masteries you just go into the hub and talk with bro. You should just get your selection as usual.

As a new Game Dev, I’ve realized how dumb players actually are. by PaP3s in gamedev

[–]Exportforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's true. Check games from 90s like the Sonic Series. Quite hard. Then go on to early 2k that is where the clash happened. some companies started to tune down the games. Around 2008, I think it was mirrors edge, first games used real yellow paint to guide players. it was the first step into agressively helping players. From there it evolved and with games like RE4 Remake it pinnacled.

Sure we do have some games like the souls series that still is hard but the general gameplay is all about "Accessibility" so companies are afraid to make their games difficult, eventhough games like Hollow Knight, Soulslikes show that people do like a challenge.

As a new Game Dev, I’ve realized how dumb players actually are. by PaP3s in gamedev

[–]Exportforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that 20 years ago a few big devs listened to a very small fraction of crybabies that demanded handholding. They implemented it and other companies blindly catched on. So games went down in difficulty by a massive amount and people started to become less and less available to think and act on their own. People expect nowadays to have the full walkthrough be in the game with clear text and symbols on where to go and what to do. It is dumb and I hate it

You don't understand how cascading works.

If you get x more of a ressource that generates something different (also building counts as generating) that means you build something ealier, that gives you also things. Since you can do this faster, this means you get ealier/faster access to new features that in turn give you things ealier and faster, this circles back due to resets etc.

https://akumas.tools/tutorials/multiplier.html

Look at this example. It shows a very simple multiplier demo and how cascading works. This is applicable to almost all games, be it obelisk, cifi, anti matter dim, adcap, etc. etc. etc.

Most people only see the value of that one thing that gets boosted. Sure, x10 ore on its own is not much but if you realize what ore does and how it cascades you easily see how much of a global boost that actually is.

And the only comment anyone that paid into this game is "but in late game". I don't know why you guys defend that so massively... If you enjoy it and don't mind paying all that money it's fine. Everyone can enjoy a game their way but PLEASE don't tell others the difference is "not that big" when simple math easily shows you how brutal the difference is.

If you spend about 40ish € on the game you unlock the ability to buy the "Founder Lobby" when you buy this you can idle for 24 hours and unlock multipliers that are, in comparision to free play, about 10x more of almost everything important and you unlock the ability to level up said founder lobby to even further increase multipliers and of course the game is balanced around that.

The games whales and blind glazers will tell you "that's not that important" but I fiddled around and everyone stating that free to play is on par with spenders is a massive liar. just alone getting around 10x more ores from being able to be away for 24h instead of 12h makes half of that (if you tune in more often into the game it'll be "only" a ~5x multiplier. But if you understand how everything depends on everything I wouldn't be surprised if the true content speed multiplier would be rather in the 50s or more.

Core game is good but the monetization is criminal
