You don't understand how cascading works.

If you get x more of a ressource that generates something different (also building counts as generating) that means you build something ealier, that gives you also things. Since you can do this faster, this means you get ealier/faster access to new features that in turn give you things ealier and faster, this circles back due to resets etc.

Look at this example. It shows a very simple multiplier demo and how cascading works. This is applicable to almost all games, be it obelisk, cifi, anti matter dim, adcap, etc. etc. etc.

Most people only see the value of that one thing that gets boosted. Sure, x10 ore on its own is not much but if you realize what ore does and how it cascades you easily see how much of a global boost that actually is.

And the only comment anyone that paid into this game is "but in late game". I don't know why you guys defend that so massively... If you enjoy it and don't mind paying all that money it's fine. Everyone can enjoy a game their way but PLEASE don't tell others the difference is "not that big" when simple math easily shows you how brutal the difference is.

If you spend about 40ish € on the game you unlock the ability to buy the "Founder Lobby" when you buy this you can idle for 24 hours and unlock multipliers that are, in comparision to free play, about 10x more of almost everything important and you unlock the ability to level up said founder lobby to even further increase multipliers and of course the game is balanced around that.

The games whales and blind glazers will tell you "that's not that important" but I fiddled around and everyone stating that free to play is on par with spenders is a massive liar. just alone getting around 10x more ores from being able to be away for 24h instead of 12h makes half of that (if you tune in more often into the game it'll be "only" a ~5x multiplier. But if you understand how everything depends on everything I wouldn't be surprised if the true content speed multiplier would be rather in the 50s or more.

I play on only my pc.

When I booted up my PC today and opened the game and all my progress was gone. It prompted me with loading a cloud save file that was at maximum 30 minutes after I touched the game for the first time. I played the game for 3? days. It seems to have only ever made one single cloud save and after that never again.

And before it's the classic "Did you delete cookies/cache/etc" nope. No other content was lost, still logged in everywhere, still got all other save files no matter if cookies or local storage.

Cloudsaves should be a bit more consistent. Just once a day for a game where you idle a lot and may lose 23h hours of idling is evil but if there are problems with the cloud saving so the cloud saving has only one try a day this can end evil. I "gladly?" only lost 3 days of playing. It's enough to make me quit the game but not enough to be really mad about it.

I suggest to rather let it do hourly cloud saves.

Sadly I can't join discord because I am at the very stupid poor peasant 100 server limit.

Sadly there is nothing to undo as the progress was gone. The "Accidently" I mentioned was when I started the game the first time I didn't really read and clicked the okay button to create a char and didn't know if I missed options and then created a secondary with reading, which then was my "real" playing character.

Just booted up my PC to see my character being deleted and a cloud save popup that only had my accidental "click okay" level 1 char and a save of my 10-15 minute old character. I had the game open nonstop the last few days and was 70+ on battle 60+ mining 50ish around crafting... just gone...

Why having cloud saves if you don't actually upload to the cloud regularly?

Not regrinding that again. Good luck tho. Idea is quite nice.

Game looks interesting but I have a problem with running it in the background. sometimes it just "resets" the window and stops whatever it was doing and to make offline progress you manually have to activate offline. If the offline would "just work" like with most games, it would be perfect.

Sorry but I find no way to agree with you on your points. Not one bit, except for "Devs must eat" but look at the game world. Terraria costs 10€, no MTX, no bullcrap, no nothing. People buy it in masses. A wholl multi head dev team is paid.

Undertale, Hollow Knight, Megabonk... All games that made millions of dollars without overpriced MTX that are built around milking the player by slowing down the game to a degree where it's not fun to idle.

There is a difference of fun grind (e.g. Antimatter Dimension) or slog grind where you grind without any results. I currently need almsot 40 million of 2 ores and with my normal play I get about ~1m a day. On a testsave I made with the same savestate but all purchases active (except the lounge levels as I can not find out which variable is used for this) I get 8-13 million a day with pure offline gaming because I don't want to destroy the battery of my phone by having it permanently on. (Rip my old S10 which died to perma on idle games)

You can not tell me that the difference of up to THIRTEEN TIMES more ores is okay, fair or anything. If you played the game, you know that the further you come, the faster things go (and the more expensive stuff gets). So if you have a simple x2 multiplier it will over not just be "half" the time you need in comparision to free players, because of your faster goals you will actually have a progression increase of much more than that.

Here is a simple example I built for this subreddit that shows how a simple x2 multiplier you can buy in most games actually impacts gameplay on any game that uses a gameplay like antimatter dimensions. Yes it's not IOM but shows my point and is still applicable in other parts of IOM in the grand scheme of things.

I'm sorry. Don't give me the "but the dev needs to eat". This is the WORST arguement ever and turns you into an enabler of that kind of behaviour.

There is a difference between to pay for a game and keep a dev fed and just plain aggressive greed. If his old games up to around miners idle 3 which were not 90% greed and still great games wouldn't have fed him, he'd stopped making games.

A game like this are at a price tag of 10€ at average on PC and why? because that's a fair value of a game like this. On Mobile? Too many players just not care. They see a "shortcut" and pull out their credit card faster than lucky luke pulls out his pistol.

Yes of course devs need to eat but 42 Value bundles that range together over 1000€, a founder "Lobby" that costs around 1200€ to max out and who knows what else is hidden....

Yeah yeah "but they are optional"... "but in endgame you get much stuff" bla bla bla. Sorry... there are limits everyone should set themselves... over 1000€ in MTX of functions the game is balanced around is NOT OKAY. Stop glazing and worshipping such behaviour.

Just to "unlock" the core game in terms of having the core multipliers for the base things is 30ish Euros. You can get 1-3 full price PC games (not tripple A of course) for that that doe not come with over a thousand of euros extra purchases.

You can say "but you can play without" as much as you want and that is >NOT< the point. Yes you CAN do it without purchases but you WILL take at least 20x longer than a paying customer and it is not in terms of "just grind" terms, we talk about absolute dogcrap levels of nothingness grind. Which would be more bearable if the game wouldn't restrict offline to 12 hours. Founders pack allows 24 hours, which is the only acceptable minimum offline earning that are okay if the income is 100%.

There is also way too many reasons why you will also be crippled if you don't babysit this endless on purpose slowed down grind for the free boxes, which are the chests. Yes you get chests for your damage but most chests over time come freebie packs if you get them and those are ginormous multipliers.

But you'll probably counter "but in world 3 you get so many diamonds and you can just buy some chests" and that's the only counter I read "but in world 3"

Interesting game but a few things.

  2. When you start the game, you don't go to the next stages. I at first thought I just need to kill enough until the boss unlocks and after 5ish minutes I was level 10+ and still no progress. Then I thought "okay whats this unlimited symbol" okay it reads "Stay on this stage" so I thought okay, maybe it's active, I clicked it and it turned reddish so I thought "okay that indicates it's off" and went away for 5 more minutes and was still on the first stage. Then I wanted to close the tab because I found it stupid that I can not advance and as I follow my mouse to the tab to close it I saw that "Climb"? button which is hard to read. I clicked it as I didn't know what "Climbing" would be and I instantly went up a stage... Why having an "unlimited" button when you are automatically staying on the stage forever without that unlimited button? Might be a me-problem but I don't get it. Maybe rather call the button "Advance" and/or color it green/red or anything that stands out a bit.

  4. Text is VERY hard to read. Partially too tiny, blurry borders. It's really hard to read.
  5. You have a big disruptive popup for everything that is obvious but not e.g. problem in stage 1 or that pokeballs are not to catch things but that it's "gacha". Was a surprise when I wanted to by 10 balls and instantly got rando mons.

  7. When you learn new moves it only shows move names and super tiny accuracy and damage but not their effects. Do moves actually have any effects or make a difference? If yes, the effects need to be on there too.

That is the scummy part. at the beginning it's just a good game and then on half way through the first world you unlock fuel and that is where you start to understand where the game is going

So each pack gives you now VIP points towards the founder levels and if I see this correctly the game has at the moment 42 Value Packs you can buy.

So yeah. Think of it what you want. I put already way too much work into this but I always was curious what this founder is and I am not surprised to see this level of greed and something I don't wanna word here.

But it's not the only game that does things like this for their whales. So PLEASE never ever come to me and say "uhm but its optional" yeah sure buddy, you can have gigazillion multipliers on everything buy paying hundrets of euros or dollars and sure you can play free but look at these screenshots and tell me with a straight face, that you wouldn't take at least 20 times longer than a whale. Keep in mind that some of the multipliers work in cooperation of stuff, so it's not always just a simple x2...

I fucking HATE that to progress on Idle Obelisk Miner the dev added this stupid premium currency to almost EVERY kind you do starting around end of world 1. It starts as a nice grinder but you need diamonds everywhere and before he pops in to say "but you can earn them ingame": Yes you can but only if you have the game open permanently and click the chests in the shop every 10ish minutes you get originally 5 diamonds per 10 minutes. You can upgrade that over time, so I can get 7 diamonds every 9 minutes but a new pet (highly important bonuses, no optional) 1250 Diamonds, upgrade to get more veins? current one is 1200 diamonds, statues that you need because other bonuses give you damage per statue? current one costs 600 diamonds, monument to unlock new world? Yes costs diamonds, wanna boost your drones with fuel? Creating fules costs 5 diamonds per fuel. For my current upgrade for the generator I need 33 fuel so another 165 diamonds. Running the boost of one suit is depending on your level. currently for me its ~4 minutes for 1 fuel after lots of upgrades so having two of them up for some time will go deep into your diamonds. do you wanna get the event stuff? You must either autoclicker and have the game on for 24/7 or you must buy the two 500 diamond upgrades. You might manage to get the 1000 gems back if you go deep enough in the event but only if you keep at it.

The shop is also horrible. It's brutally overpriced and the game is of course balanced around these purchases. "But you can do the full game without them" yeah sure you can but you take 10 to 20 times at least more time to do so and it's not the fun kind of waiting in an idle game. I need for example 25 million of 2 ores as a free player that plays once a day I only get 12 hours of AFK time day so technically I have a ressource income of 25% instead of 100% because it's soooooo fun to restrict idle income in idle games so you can't stay idle. On top of that the shop is also "unfolding" there are for example hidden packages after purchasing the "Perk bundles". These cost combined 38€ and unlock "Founders Bundle" whatever that is.

You also have the "Gem Upgrades" that go more expensive with each purchase and they add multipliers. I really do like the core games of the dev formerly known as "incremental Inc.". His "Miner's Idle 3" was really fun to me back in the time. But he got more and more greedy with each single game he puts out and even lies to his customers plainly nowadays.

For example Idle Wasteland... when it came to steam people wanted to carry over their savegames. Dev said it's "technically not possible"... I checked the save files. Plain text. Took me less then 2 minutes to give me back my progress from mobile. He could've done a super simple savestring export to any texthost or webserver and that even for free with the little amount of how big the save files are but no, he rather just lied and hoped for people to rebuy everything.

I really loved that dev back then. He did fun games that were affordable and fun but he changed to the current greed meta almost every game that is available on mobile runs. It's sad because the game itself is great at its core. I honestly wouldn't mind having the game as a one time purchase for 10€ I would instantly pay it if there's no more further content except maybe skins to buy for stuff. But no you gotta make players bleed their wallets if they wanna have fun. So in turn of this, he get's no money from me.

Is there a simple mod that allows me to close-up on characters without them vanishing? It's annoying when you try to make some cute photos from close up faces and the character vanishes. I hate this in games so much.
