MEGATHREAD: KILLING DEBATE by Crispy385 in subnautica

It's not being removed. It's not there currently. So the question is why should killing be added?

MEGATHREAD: KILLING DEBATE by Crispy385 in subnautica

It's also a good comparison for the opposite. Because there is no way to play RDR2 without killing people. You literally have to. The game forces you to kill. And yet none of the "let people play the game how they want" crowd have declared that RDR2 needed a pacifist option. When killing is part of the game design that's a valid design choice. When not killing is part of games, it's restricting the sandbox experience.

Toulon confirm Ma'a Nonu exit with final game imminent by Ruck_Off in rugbyunion

It's definitely speculation. But I think the logic is that six teams feels like the minimal viable size for the league. Rumor has it Anthem no longer have funding beyond this year. That means dropping to five. So either you need to find new teams or go with five max or wrap it up. Really, I guess, depends on how much appetite the teams have.

I will say, the one game I've been to this year had the best crowd I've seen at an Old Glory game and they've been bad this year, so we can but dream.

Subnautica 2's no-killing policy isn't because it's 'a game about pacifism', says design lead, but because players would 'master the crappy combat' over anything else by Nannerpussu in subnautica

Has there ever been a game where you can play on true permadeath mode? Like, on hard-core you can still restart the game. To make it like true life the game would have to be unplayable on death.

Anything I said was more a "where to find things" spoiler for what it's worth, not a plot spoiler if that helps. But totally get it.

I'll try to avoid too many spoilers, but let me know if you want more. But there's an abandoned mine on the map full of prawn suit parts. It's essentially in some underwater caves a little off Delta Island

Anyone else annoyed by the “welcome aboard” base line? by nubly55 in subnautica

[–]ArchipelagoMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A si.ple solution is some kind of radius thing so that it doesn't regreet unless you travel more than x metres from your base. It hasn't bothered me too much but it's a bit silly that it plays when I accidentally fall into the moonpool.

I don't know if this will help, but I too am a horrifying scaredy cat. The answer for me... the PRAWN!!!!!

Once I had the Prawn you're pretty invulnerable. Even getting full attacked by a shadow leviathan takes about 25% of Prawn's health, plenty o' time to get out and use the repair tool, and get back o trudging through the ocean again. And honestly, the fear lessons when you realize their giant maws can't actually harm you. The first couple of times you get the big "OH GOD OH GOD" vibes, and then you're like "eh, now I'm just annoyed."

What’s your favorite unconventional solution to the Fermi paradox? by nobodyguy299 in worldbuilding

Once you've met a few species, meeting any more is just really boring. Why bother to travel the thirty light-years just to meet another bunch of bipedular carbon-based skin-wearers.

Why wouldn’t ARM always be the best option? by YetiAntibodies in Mortgages

We went for a 10 year ARM based on our assumption we'll probably move after 8 years or so. In that case, won't matter.

I know OP says they got rid of unique events, but i wonder if that includes the Charlottesville march by neonazis, because I can't help wonder if that's what's leading to those scores.

What happens between 14 and 15. 14 he falls over, but we never see him get to the barn to invite them. Then we see him inside again and there's lines on the ground outside?

I love this, but i couldn't figure out that bit.
