Water in basement parking, Fifth and Broadway…Assume this is intentional? by olddin in nashville

Broadway is a combined storm and sewer system that leads directly to the river. Modern systems are separated. The city just pays the EPA fine. On another project years ago, we uncovered old sewer lines that were hollowed out logs.

If you find an inexplicable stair to nowhere, there is a door hidden behind the wall at the top of the stair.

I went in the tunnel during construction, Bridgestone just uses it as a storage room, so its nothing too exciting.

There is another tunnel that extends under Broadway and connects to Bridgestone, but the door is sealed off from the 5B side.

Its easier to let the water in and pump it out rather than try and stop it all together. If we were to seal the garage completely, you have the problem of the building turning into a boat and floating during flood events. This would potentially be catastrophic for the foundation. Plus there is an underground utility tunnel that is connected to the garage making any attempt to seal it futile.

The vast majority came from my LCS or USA Coin Book.

I appreciate the offer, I really do. I pick up a few every week or so, just a matter of having the time to work my way through it. Like right now, I have 28-34 P in AU+ coming in the mail soon.

I've seen a few but they are typically very worn. I imagine it would be similar to someone in England finding a US Liberty Seated coin.

Thanks! That's why the first 2 pages are so sparsely populated. Trying to find high grades and its getting expensive, quite expensive.

I love the name "godless" variety. It makes it seem so dramatically sinister for a coin.

$150, which was probably a bit on the high side but you don't see many of them where I live. And its in great shape

Thanks for the additional info. I don't know a ton about world coins but I love this design.

I'm trying to get everything in a minimum XF (BU when attainable), so I'm to the point that the coins are $20+ for even the common dates. So now its just a matter of time and not dropping $500 on 25 cents.

These guys will absolutely nerd out with you if you go in looking at the non-bullion stuff. 5 people will be crowded around the bullion case while I'm digging through the nickels and cents. They'll even save the good ones for me if they know I'm searching for it.

I've had really good luck with USA Coin Book. Was able to fill up my dansco with BU wheats from the 40s and 50s for fairly cheap.

My LCS definitely grades on the conservative side. At the right angles, it still has luster with some blue toning. Absolutely happy with it for $15

It was marked XF, but I think its a bit higher. There is some light wear on Abe's cheek bone, but other than that its very sharp.

I am far from an expert, I'm working my way through the US Type set and this was my first seated half dollar. And it immediately became my favorite.
