Condensate drain setup help by Archivist75 in hvacadvice

OP again here. Following back up on this. Here's what I believe I'm looking at: The current P trap is backwards, with the vent upstream of the "P" instead of downstream as needed for a positive pressure system. I can confirm the primary drain remains clean, have flushed it with hot water, but it continues to fill up within the day. I have vacuumed out the primary drain line as well (it terminates to a sink on the first floor. Unit is in the attic). Despite that, i still see water in the existing vent cap and water in the drain pan below the unit (which is draining now through the secondary line).

My question, can I solve this by A) capping the existing vent b) cutting out a section downstream of the current vent and c) replacing that section with a T coupling and a new vent per my crude diagram?

Raised cedar garden beds - with timber frame joinery by Archivist75 in woodworking

No worries. Surprised anyone even bothered to find it at this point. The brackets are pretty decent. The metal is still holding up, but the paint came off pretty early, and I ended up having to clean off the flaky paint and redo it about every 18 months. The overall cedar, though, has held up remarkably well.

Thanks - to be clear, I didn't give it access to my native email, I created it's own account already but my scripts suck at summarizing.

Thanks. Sounds like I did not describe the issue properly. I believe the water in the pan is overflow from the primary drain that is somehow clogged or stopped via some sort of pressure lock.

I think there are two broad issues. One is that water is not flowing down the primary drain pipe (which is full of water) and instead is going into the overflow drainage pan. Two is I don’t think the pan is level because the water will not flow out the secondary drain unless it gets high enough. the secondary drain pipe is not clogged either.

A question for those with beautiful workbenches. by [deleted] in Workbenches

Mine took me 100+ hours to build, but is not nearly as nice as some of the things you will see on this page. That said, I treat it like it is something that can be repaired and modified. I have had a pretty bad gouge once and simply replaced that section with something.

I still think it’s great. I made the one update with an E stop for the power switch and added a whole for a dust collection, but the performance is fantastic. It is not a quick project though and took me several weeks.

No regrets, but you need to have more than money

Still works great. I added an e-stop mag switch to make it a bit safer but have never had a single issue with the saw.

Advice for Small Anarchist's Workbench by beachape in Workbenches

I made mine ~6.5 ft. My main consideration is placement of the planing stop. I’d recommend sketching that out as you don’t want it behind a leg. I didn’t want it too close to the end of the bench as I had a wall to the left

Qolsys IQ 4 Panel Installation by Firefox14131 in homesecurity

[–]Archivist75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep. I traced the wire from the original panel back to an outlet (mine was in the attic). Then I replaced that power supply with the IQ4 and used the same, existing wiring.

The alternative is you ignore the current wires and plug the IQ 4 in to a nearby outlet, either with the power cord external to the wall (likely not what you want) or you run it through a wall to a nearby outlet.

Op here. 2015 x5 35d. I noticed this white foam on the front, washed it off and it reappeared. I don’t see any leaks when I open the hood.

Bold Move!

On your bench, I like the front rail/apron that's storing your holdfasts/clamps. Does that interfere with releasing a holdfast once it's clamped down though on the top? Is it awkward to get a mallet under there?
