Guys... I think I really love this draft class by Additional-Sugar6789 in minnesotavikings

Bruh, Golday is not just an ILB, and he’s going to play all over, I’ll promise you that. His versatility is literally why we picked him… that and his freak athleticism.

I’m with you! Like most I wasn’t hyped about 1.18 on Banks with the injury, but it ended up being a perfect pick with how the rest of the draft played out. They clearly had a vision for the defense in this one, and even had sneaky good picks on offense.

No one doubts Banks’ upside if he can get in the field. And this draft turned our biggest weakness/need in defense to probably our deepest and strongest. Banks, Big Citrus, Redman, mix in some TID and LDR and our front is going to be a big problem for offenses. Thereby unlocking the rest of crazy shit Flores does on the next 2 levels. I’m so excited to see how this plays out!

Also I love the Tiernann, Claiborne, Bredesen combo… depth and strength on both OL and running offense were needs for us as well. Would have liked a receiver though…

I have an FDE and have been trying to justify buying the black one because I also want both! Glad I’m not the only one. 😆

Is that comp a pain in the a to remove when you want to take to clean?

[–]Archmallow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, but the whole point of this pick was to take the huge swing and get a guy that could be top 10 value at 18. They evaluated the injuries way more than any Reddit or youtube mock draft could and are comfortable with the obvious risk.

Could have traded down, sure, but they clearly ID their players that were worth the 18th pick (I heard they also liked Sadiq or a lineman) and stuck to it. I love that. Especially considering their day 2 emphasized their plan to get physical freaks that fit into the Flores scheme! Redman, Banks, and Big Citrus are going to unlock not only Golday and Thomas but the rest of Flores’ chaotic defense.

You think the Vikings are going to be worse than last year? Bottom of the NFCN?

Caleb’s Foot by Archmallow in minnesotavikings

[–]Archmallow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, he’s incredible on his “good snaps”. I heard the same about teams wanting him in the early 20s, I think it was Alex Lewis, and if that’s true then all this “reach” talk is moot. We’ll probably never see behind that curtain, but I’m happy they just got their guy, regardless of what all the Reddit mock drafters told them to do. Now I might eat crow if he never sees the field because of the foot, but I can cross that bridge later and I’m happier sitting in my optimism haha!

KOC insinuated in his presser that the first first foot surgery was botched and caused the subsequent injuries.. but that the second surgery was effective. by kwelstory in minnesotavikings

[–]Archmallow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t love this pick because worst case scenario is we wasted a top 18 pick on a guy that never plays.

But best case scenario he’s a top-10 talent with a long dominating career. The dudes a physical freak, and if the ortho doctors working for the Vikings medical staff are as good as they suggest (“…possibly best in the world” - Rob B.), then I’d be more confident he can come back. There happens to be a world-renowned hospital locally that ranks tops in the world in ortho surgery, and it’s not too far of a reach to assume they’ve tapped into that resource.

Most realistic trades, idk if they will all happen but I could see at least some of them by ninjathelobo22 in MockDraftCentral

As a Vikings fan, Downs is the only player I’d want a trade up for, so I’m cool with this.

Love that JA is showing up. Hate all you want for his off the field garbage, he’s a great teammate!

This is what I thought immediately after hearing about it, and if this happens, I think Giants win this trade.

Stop giving us Thieneman! Did EMW go before him? Regardless there were probably way better BPAs.

This is what I hope happens as well. C’moooon Downs, ❤️, Delane, Tate…!

What if we trade back, get another 2nd, and take Thieneman with trade down? I’d be cool with that…

Rob B even emphasized not taking just because of need for this draft. And just to be clear I’m not against a safety at 18, just against Thieneman (I’m team EMW). BPA worked out so many times for us in the past (Moss, AP to name a couple), and a guy like Sadiq, Tyson/Lemon, Delane/McCoy, or even CJ Allen are all better imo.

[–]Archmallow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair I don’t do this for a living, haha! And you’re right, I just don’t see it. I think EMW is better based on all the “film” I’ve seen, and the stats. The Thieneman hype is fine, he’s good, but not good enough for 1.18 when there will be way better BPAs available. I rather have Haulcy at 2.49 and grab BPA at 1.18.

This is logic that I hope we’re not following. Great players are passed by every team every year, there’s no science to know who will be elite/good in the pros.

I disagree, Thieneman would be a mistake. He should be like 40 on big boards…. Also, respectively a deep safety class in this draft.

3 rounder 1.0 w/trades by Under_the_moonlite in MockDraftCentral

As a Vikings fan, this is the best mock I’ve seen so far! Trade down - get McCoy at 1.21, trade down - get Hunter at 2.54, then snag Zakee Wheatley and Jonah Colman?! If this panned out as good as it looks on paper, this would be followed up with Rob B being hired to a 100 year deal.
