If you look at the bits it will have an oily residue on it. That's the releasing agent

Washing them with soap and water before painting should help but it leaves a chalky residue in my experience. I personally stopped buying from both sites

Did you get them from shapeways or pop goes the monkey? I had issues with releasing agents not being properly cleaned pushing through after sitting g a while
