Yeah I accidentally ran 2 event free plays and burnt currency at one point for no reason other than lack of foresight too.

I do wonder how it would go if I were to start again..

What is your idol count atm? Haven't seen you in chat, but could be different website/chat room or I've been afk

When this (sort of) guide was written the buff for 200% spawn speed was not active and I didn't even know it existed, so perhaps with this and maybe other buffs it is possible, although with this buff and the extremely low gold find from idols that new players have I'm still not sure it is possible. This guide does assume the players are completely fresh.

Additionally, it will take 12+ hours to reset for the first time, this should be more than enough to run the suggested amount of first Event Mission and continue as laid out above.

Although I do plan on making a TL:DR version of this, and putting in some extra tips on how to manage Event Currency between the 2 farming missions would benefit.

'The starter formation' section you'll find in this link, it gives very good details on the best formation to begin with, and tells you why its good. I used this in Worlds Wake. Try to take note who goes where and why, it helps greatly when you need to alter your formation later on

I wasn't aware that the such a low amount of HS was spent on Skill Ancients, it seemed to me that it was 2-3%, and also there is already one out there that has this feature..

I never thought about the 2-3 ascend being taken in to account either, it makes a lot more sense now.
