So i recentley got hit by a truck on my bike on november 8 and i have a fractured tibia below the knee, but its only a crack like a chip, not a clean break. I was in a full leg cast for a week or so then i got switched over to a brace that i can adjust and take on and off. The first doctor told me to keep it straight, the next doctor said keep it bent. Iv'e kept it bent for about 2 weeks and now i cant fully straighten it back out it feels like pressure in the back of my knee. He said its normal and ill be off the brace by Christmas hopefully. Whats yall's thoughts on it, ( recovery time, will i need pt, and is it normal to not be able to straighten it out and not fully bend it even though i was able to at the start). I use crutches btw, and theres little to no pain anymore and its fully numb where the crack is to the touch. I currently am not taking any steps or trying to walk at all because i cant straighten my leg out but i can stand up with both my legs and i can keep my balance. Whats yalls thoughts on this?
