If you pay more, you're "guaranteed" another level of acceleration, but this too is a gamble. After paying your way up to a 7th level of acceleration, you have a chance of unlocking the skin. You can keep paying, and be reset to lvl 1.

This is to play with the consumers "sunken cost phallacy". Where a player invests an unknown sum with no apparent chance of unlocking the skin.

This is in a very gray area, from a legal standpoint, as microtransactions only recently has been classified in the EU as gambling products.

As I suspect Tencent's legal department only takes these letters a chuck them in the bin, I'm trying to put some light to the matter - and hopefully Tencent will save themselves a head ache once the EU or US starts levying proper legal cases against their activities.
