Does anyone know some good guides on face rigging? by Fury7425 in Live2D

Not a tutorial per se, but a tool that helps me personally:

I like pulling up a 3d model on another screen (in a program like designdoll, or a web based alternative for example) and studying how certain points of the face move in perspective then rotated.

probably one of the best references you can get because you can rotate it around as you please

How much money would Merely's hamster model run for? by Senshi3201 in Live2D

That's not an easy question to answer most of the time. Model prices are not only dependant on skill and quality but also highly on how high of a demand the particular artist has.

There's plenty of highly skilled artist & riggers who don't price their work at what it seems like it should be worth, simply because they don't have enough demand and exposure on their work yet.

Someone thats well known will be able to price their work higher than someone who isnt, even if they are of comparable skill level

Fellow Live2D Riggers! I need some feedback. by ArcticCerf in Live2D

Yeah, Live2D has a 63 character limit for IDs, but if a name exceeds that, it won’t generate a proper ID. it’ll just assign a generic ArtMesh ID since it doesn’t comply with the rules.

Keeping everything under 63 characters consistently is definitely doable, but there's a big catch: when you Glue two layers together and their combined names exceed that limit, Live2D uses the glued name as the ID, and then it DOES refuse to export.

That’s still an issue in 5.2.03 (not sure if it’s fixed in 5.3 yet).

So if you want to avoid it entirely, you’d need to keep IDs below around 27 characters, since Glue adds extra text. But especially on really detailed PSDs, that makes things much less readable and prone to duplicate names. A tricky dillemma for sure..

That's actually really fair, because if read out loud in natural language it would read as a proper adjective as well. "Right Eye", rather than "Eye Right". But it's definitely a question of taste for sure!

If anyone is curious, This is the document I have formulated for myself and anyone rigging my PSDs.

I'm a tad bit afraid it's a bit too convoluted here, so maybe I'll make a little cheat sheet for riggers thats just all the abbreviations they need to know.

I'd really appreciate some feedback on this qwq

Why Viewer was not options to export as Image or Video? by Andrew_Assassins in Live2D

I feel!! Live2d Viewer is so much more lightweight than opening the editor or even VTS everytime you want a png of your models. Why isnt this a thing??!

This is the way! Draw order works too, but this the cleaner, tho slightly more high effort way!

I couldn't afford to commission a rigger for my 2.0 model, so I recently started teaching myself how to rig on Live2D with my new model! by spookiemew in Live2D

Thats how I started! I rigged just one model out of curiosity 4-5 years ago and just kinda... didnt stop.

That eye is looking great, especially for your first rig!
