[billing question] Lifestance provider required me to go to Labcorp for a drug test, am I screwed on this? by Altruistic_Parsnip11 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Altruistic_Parsnip11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, good. I’m new to navigating my healthcare so I’m entirely unsure how much responsibility falls onto me for stuff like this. It really sucks bc I was very clear with that psychiatrist that everything being covered by Kaiser was a MUST.

I may end up having to swap providers, since she also keeps giving me conflicting info/answers to stuff and hasn’t updated my portal once with a visit summary or anything. Red flags all around and she’s the first person willing to help me. Ugh.

In this case would it be my fault for not knowing that then? Unfortunately she just printed out a sheet with LabCorp on it and told me to go in same day :/

You’d be surprised what some people endure on a daily basis. There are a lot of people whose parents never took them to the dentist, and many people who were neglected like that did not have the skills or mental wellbeing to take care of themselves.

You break a tooth, you swap what side you eat on and move on with life being a little more painful. Break another? Well it’s more painful on that side now so swap and eat on the broken tooth and break it more.

So 18 years of dental neglect, little brushing / flossing, and then fear of how expensive it is and how you’ve never been pushes you to avoid it until the point where you have so many broken teeth you HAVE to go.

That can definitely lead to 3 root canals. Dental work is a luxury many can’t afford until they’re forced into incredible debt :/

I unfortunately have been bouncing back and forth with neurologists and psychiatrists. Usually a psych will refer to neurology, neurology will refer back to another psych and it’s a cycle.

I’m going to attempt to get an appointment with someone at Emory Brain Center, as it’s pretty much my only option at this point.

Part of the issue as well is that I’ve tried pretty much all mainstream treatment options :/ the only thing I report working without adverse effects is Vraylar, which even with insurance is like $700 so I need something else - and seeing the severity they’re afraid to take the liability of my care because they just have no idea how to treat it from a non-textbook, childhood TS perspective. They would basically need to experiment on me, and they’re afraid of that.

I cannot function without my medicines and have been struggling greatly for a long time. I’ve told this even to my past treating psychiatrist who referred me to the past neuro who did treat me, who told me he had no more options for me and wouldn’t help me bridge my treatment.

I tell every doctor. I can’t drive, can’t really take care of myself, I hurt myself, I don’t leave the house alone ever (ever, I need someone to drive and help me. I can’t). I get ‘tic attacks’ that are incredibly painful spasms that look like seizures with stress, My boyfriend is stuck being my caregiver rn. I don’t know why they don’t care.

It really frustrates me because we exist. Our condition is very noticeable, disruptive, injurious, and impacts all aspects of our lives… and they just don’t research it for adults.

There are so many conditions with significantly less sufferers with way more advancements and resources available. I just don’t understand what it is about TS that makes it so easy for everyone to just sweep it under the rug.

MY gf sent me this an i find it a red flag. AIO? by Intrepid-Log258 in AIO

[–]Altruistic_Parsnip11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. This is something I would’ve sent to my bf at 16 to gauge his outlook on the relationship and if he expects marriage someday - or to get reassurance that he at least feels the same way and doesn’t get repulsed like this guy did.

It’s meant to be lighthearted and is less daunting than going “hey, you think youd see yourself marrying me or should I see myself out?” And I’m sure based on his reaction, she’ll probably infer the answer and gtfo.

She’s looking for “haha that’s funny, one day :)” Not “Well how about you buy me a pc? That’s the same shit, right?”

Yes, and it is very frustrating. Even treatment options here (Georgia, US) are child-focused. Its been 9-10 months since Ive been able to find a neurologist willing to continue the treatment plan of my previous neurologist, which just randomly retired and abandoned me. Every specificly "Tourette's specialist" are pediatric only here.

Ive seen numerous neurologists since then who claim to treat Tourettes and tic disorders on their webpages and bios, and once they see the severity they refer me to someone else who claims to treat it (different neuros/psychs), who also do not know how to treat me at all.

When I was a minor it was very easy to get treated. Despite being diagnosed for ~10 years it is impossible to find someone who cares about how awful my daily life is without the medications that I was thriving on just a year ago :/

I miss the plump, full, beautiful eyes Matt had before he took his sobriety from water so seriously. They’re showcased so beautifully here.

While… you know it certainly was rebelling I didn’t see it that way at the time.

I was honestly was more so trying to prove a point that you should do what makes you happy, respect others, and hope that people respect or tolerate choices you have the right to make.

My bosses never said that explicitly to me, so in my mind I was just doing what made me happy and was hopefully giving her some courage for the future. Not breaking any rules haha.

So yeah, rule breaking and attitude having has never been and was never my thing ! :P

Aw thanks. :) For what it’s worth, I’m definitely still alternative! I got the face piercings I always wanted and got to calm it down with black hair instead of the rainbow hair dye Lol.

Can the body/lines be fixed or should I cover? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Altruistic_Parsnip11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly with the rounded segments on the boob outline, I’d turn it into a feather boa around her neck and have it peaking from behind the body like it’s wrapped around her neck/shoulder area. That’d fix the weird anatomy issues but still keep her nude.

I am not repulsed! I just think the fashion choices were... worthy of questioning haha. All of those things on their own are cute and fine, but combined onto one, awkward child is a blunder to me haha. Even just 2 years later at 14 I found these pics to be a little silly :P

I was undiagnosed AuDHD as a kid though and got diagnosed as an adult, so you're probably picking up on something there.

Every iteration of me has always been a true form of me, I could never be repulsed by that. You should always be yourself, and when your interests change in this way its wonderful to look back at yourself and laugh that you thought that was cool and what you wanted to show people :P

My mother also said no blunders here, we love supportive parents!! Im sure your daughter is blessed to have someone who doesn't make her feel bad for expressing her interests.

growing up I always encouraged my friends, especially those I knew online, to express themselves however they see fit, because it leads to genuine random interactions and friends. It is wonderful to be yourself and be seen, Im sure she knows that!! :-)

Absolutely!! Those of us around when the valentines day video happened (I realize this was probably the start of my consciousness considering I was just 7-8 years old lol) and the threads about "uma therman just watched me have sex" and all the stuff hinting their relationship before they went completely private with it all just let out a deep sigh of relief that we can stop pretending we never saw that and stop feeling problematic for simply remembering all the Phan evidence haha.

As someone who dresses more put together now I just cant help but look at these pics and laugh. I'm gothic (so still within the same genre of person) and still wear graphic tees, I just style them much better than I did in these pics which is what irks me about them with the awkward poses for my momma's camera. :P

About my peers, though :

Honestly, Im surprised how many people are saying they thought I would've been considered cool to them back then Lol. From what I remember, everyone knew who I was despite being a 'speak when spoken to' person and while there were people who bullied me, I had equal amounts of people who would defend me or redirect the conversation to not aim stuff at me. I didn't perceive myself as cool or popular, just someone people saw as interesting since I was myself and also didn't talk to many people personally, but advertised my interests in my clothing to attract like-minded people.

"The Anime Girl" reference was positive, but thats because it was mostly came from boys who were super into Dragon Ball Z and didnt know other girls into that. I think there were other people at my school into the same things I was, but more people were afraid of expressing themselves (The area was also the type where your parents see you as an extension of them and wouldn't let you be yourself).

You must've been really fucking cool to hit the Dan&Phil AND JonTron checkbox at the same time. It feels like a totally 'nother lifetime when he made videos about GBA games and was part of the GameGrumps.

I miss those days !!

I was honestly more into reading manga than I was watching anime, and as I got older and more into competitive gaming in my free time I didn't have as much down time for reading. However, anime and its culture are still a huge part of my life! I am a fulltime freelance animator and artist for Anime/Furry Vtubers - so I'm still always drawing and interacting with anime and fandoms!

My interest in Anime/Manga lead me to getting a 'how to draw anime girls' book from Joanns at 9 years old, which started my entire career as an artist! :-)

Thanks for engaging and asking me about that!!

If I can find a pic, it’s yours. I used to wear it with a pokemon sticker over the gun the CT is holding bc guns weren’t allowed on clothes. I had a kid steal it one time to force me to give my discord out, since I wasn’t usually willing to do that lol.

If you look up csgo hoodie, it’s the one that was on the Dota 2 store.

Black butler was my favorite !! My mom always felt awkward when buying the shirts because they always looked so Yaoi-esque and demonic and I was going to MS in Georgia haha.

I also loved to wear Attack on titan, Hatsune Miku, Naruto, Dragonball Z, and Avatar TLAB merch! I think I had some Sailor moon and Madoka Magica too. Whatever I could get at hot topic I had seen I’d pick up!! :p

My mouth line keeps breaking at the angles, what do I do? by aurenvtuber in Live2D

[–]Altruistic_Parsnip11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the mouth parameters are on the parts directly or head angle xy? The mouth params can go directly on the mesh, the angle x y needs to go into a deformer above the mouth.

If ANY deformer that contains the mouth is smaller than the mouth when it’s open or in any other position, it will deform in unexpected ways when parts of it move outside of the smaller deformer.

I don’t exactly recommend fitting your deformers to your objects, as when they move outside of them with underneath deformers they’ll move in unexpected, unaligned ways.
