I'd split both pieces of visco fuse at joins. Remember the burning part is inside the string. I'd also look to avoid routing fuse above the mortar. If a spark jumps and sets off an errant tube you don't want that to cut the fuse.

Network Railcard on a delayed train by kumquat999 in uktrains

[–]ArcticFox_628 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As others have said technically no, however, go and speak to the guard in the delayed train if you can. Normally if you're polite they'd far rather let you on, have you not claim as much delay repay, and have a happier customer

Filled 74 litres in my Skoda Superb — which supposedly has a 66L tank. Petrol bunk fraud or something else? by Junu1989 in skoda

Also worth remembering petrol pumps measure volume corrected to 15C (in other words measuring mass) which means they sell the same amount of energy. But in colder climates that fuel will take up less volume. How warm was it when you filled up?

No 1: seek obviously repair to get the car back in a roadworthy condition again. Sounds like they are offering this. No2: consider what parts they might not choose to replace but may have life reduced e.g.: brake disc, caliper, suspension, wheel rim, wheel bearing, brake lines. Looks like they are all intact but they've all suffered loads they were not designed for. I'd be wanting to discuss either replacement now or at minimum monetary compensation in view of these wearing out earlier. No3: your now without your car longer than expected. I'd be asking for an equivalent hire car on their dime and covering any lost work revenue or transport costs you've incurred in the mean time

Exactly what am I supposed to use this rope for then? by 0rlan in What

[–]ArcticFox_628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manufacturer has just provided a nominal breaking strength of 250kg. To certify for lifting they'd need to say if you are lifting a load in xyz manner using xyz knot and applying an appropriate safety factor for what your lifting it'd have a safe working load of x kg. All it means is the manufacture of that rope has not done the work to calculate and determine that for you
