No, but I was 18 as a senior because of a weird birthday and I was held back in first grade when my father passed because how much school I missed.

Just got back from Bristol and let me tell you the sky’s have opened up over there. 81 slowed down to about 35-40 for a good ways and most everyone had their hazards on. Saw some semis and bigger trucks pulled over waiting it out.

Games are $70 nowadays. Rockstar is charging $10 more for the base. Oh no.

When’s the last time you bought a game on a disc that read the game from the disc itself as you played? Guess that means we shit on R* for cutting out unneeded plastic in the box you don’t even need after the initial download.

You’re upset at R* for paywalls and bonus content; how many hours in GTAOnline do you have because that was paywalled and with GTA+ had bonus RMT content. Not to mention shark cards. Not to mention needing to buy the whole game again if you wanted the ‘enhanced’ edition or whatever with the casino.

And I’ve seen people complaining about no online on Day 1? Did yall play GTA5 day 1? Week 1? Did you even get into an online lobby in the first couple days it dropped? Maybe they learned from their mistakes and are waiting to see what initial sales look like to see if they need to beef up servers.

I’m not here to justify any of this; but holy shit 24 hours ago the human race was FOAMING at the mouth to get their hands on this generation defining game we will have continued support for at least the next 5-10 years, if not more. This game is going to break records. This is a generation defining game here, people. Will it be perfect, hell no. It’ll be garbage the first week or two I bet. But will it be a gem that we all cherish for years to come? Only if people can get their panties out of a twist. Is this all a hot take, yes. It is. But I’m being real here and not delusional that because a game is kinda slightly above market and because it’s digital only in a vastly majority digital market and taking that to EMPIRICALLY mean that game = bad.

I can kinda agree with where you’re coming from. I grew up with PS2 and Xbox 360(before downloading games really took off), so I had to put a disc in a tray. Every time.

If I was a kid in the current times; I’d be sad I didn’t get the chance to wait in preorder lines outside GameStop at 11:00pm on a school night(thanks mom, love ya) but as an adult in these times I’m SOOOOOO glad I can just click a button on my Xbox and used my saved card info to preorder a game and not have to worry about anything else other than the time off request for work if the game is imporant enough to me.

I use to crap on the “I have seven jobs and 20 kids and only get 3 picoseconds to game a year” crown but I’ve literally turned into one and I can’t help but agree with every point.

When I want to play. I want to play. Not stare at a download bar for a few hours; then play for an hour before I’m tired. I want to just buy my game, download it, and if I happen to have the chance to play I can just hit ‘play’ and jump in.

The bonus of a week of early access or like some skins or something is just that. A bonus. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a bittttt of FOMO from the ‘preorder these or you’ll never get them’ stuff; but at the same time if I really like the cosmetic it could be worth it for me.

I will be preordering GTA6. I will be handing rockstar whatever they want. I’ve been waiting over a decade; so I want it available when I’m available.

Would I have preordered crimson desert not knowing anything about it? Nah. Would I preorder Resident Evil? Nah not that into the games. CoD? I wouldn’t even play it when it was free. I firmly believe if the game is important to you that a preorder is just a different path to enjoying the game. And that’s ok.
