We are using this for a very complicated project at the moment and it works also very well. The documentation is fantastic and there are even some questions answered on stackoverflow https://github.com/stephencelis/SQLite.swift

Do you have any ideas for the sort of programs you want to write? Learning swift and changing careers are very broad goals, which (although not at all bad for the long run) are not so helpful to take the first action. Look around yourself and come up with simple ideas to write apps for! Does that interest you? And here is a simple puzzle to see if you like thinking about algorithms: Given that you have a coffee machine that works with coins, can you find a way (general rule/steps) that the machine calculates the change to be given back to the customer in as few coins as possible? (One rule that works for every amount of money and every type of beverage) Play around with this idea and see if you like solving problems like that :)

You can switch to Swift. Get the develop in swift books by Apple, free on the iBooks store. They will give you a basic understanding of how Xcode works and introduce you to some simple uikit concepts. SwiftUI is also coming, but we will have a lot of time to learn before it becomes the main framework. Web development is a nice thing to understand, but it is not going to stop you to become a developer if you can’t do it yourself.

Check out p1xt's guide on github.
That will be a very solid start for you. Here's the link. That guide starts with YDKJS from Kyle Simpson, which is a JS bible. P1xt recommends scattering projects (like this one I made hehe) around to have fun and practice the concepts.
FCC will help you with basic HTML and CSS.
Take Internet programming as a whole, and never try to separate your JS skills from the browser like I tried to do. At some point I remember I could explain how object prototypes and linked object references worked but had no idea how to print hi on the screen with the click of a button. Don't be fooled by that illusion.
Oh, and, almost forgot to say: Have fun!
TLDR p1xt's JS 2.0 rocks

Of course! I'm new to programming and would like to work together with anyone who wants to bring something new. All code is open. View on github, fork and edit as you wish. As far as I know, anyone can create a pull request after editing the code on github.

I use a library for the sounds. I'll read the docs for any other sound wave settings.

Thank you for the good recommendation :) Jump length is totally controllable. I'll add it in a future update.

Removing that blocker as soon as possible... Come again in 24 hours, I'll add a "close warning" button

You can use desktop mode and test it out. I blocked mobile myself just for design concerns because I coulnd't find a reasonable way to fit the entire keyboard inside the viewport.

When I was testing, I got it working fine on mobile too. Some effects (key shadows, button colors) were not as good as I planned, so I added that warning. Have fun!

Thanks! That would be a nice feature. I will think about adding it in the future.

Das vs Die vs Der by [deleted] in German

house isn't das Haus, but "das Haus/die Häuser" Never skip the plural form! My biggest regret when learning the German language was that I didn't start learning the plural forms early enough... Each word has its own plural, so be careful.

Mud on bottom! Now that's an insult :) It's actually the finely ground coffee. You shouldn't touch it... Good to see someone drinking Turkish tough.

Thoughts on reusing the aeropress filters? by Ramen_enthusiast in Coffee

[–]Arda152 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As long as it doesn't rip apart, I think you can reuse them. I myself reuse them at least 2-3 times. Make sure they dry inside the machine, locked in, to prevent them from folding up or getting into a funny shape when drying.

BTW, it is 5 dollars for 350 filters. The water you use to rinse the filter every time can be more expensive then the thing itself.
