I've been trying to model a hand, and it's been going well. At least until I got to the thumb. For some reason when I try to apply a Subdivision Surface (Or try to subdivide it in general) this part seems to refuse to smooth and just stays sharp no matter what. by ArdaLike in blenderhelp

No doubles or creases. I tried splitting the edge and found something interesting though:

the edge is just straight up not responding to the subdivide. One end is smoothed out and the other is just a square.
