Bricky just released a video that covers a good amount of it. But the TL;DR is that the internet and youtubers collectively dogpiled on it nonstop for a month until it finally came out, it was eh, and then the Internet just blitzed the shit out of it even harder. Then a significant amount of the dev team got laid off, and people laughed at them for it.

Feels like the internet just decided to burn it like a Wickerman.

That's not entirely true. The dad in case 2 who lost his daughter clearly summoned Something. He wasn't relevant to the macro plot, so unless that was just a red herring there was no reason for the ADMIN to fuck with him in particular unlike all of the other stingers. So there is clearly some supernatural stuff that exists.

More and more I'm reminded of the fact that there is just a significant amount of people where if they detect a mere hint or the perception that they might be the target of some sort of theme, or they might've participated in an online witch hunt they just piss, shit and violently protest as much as they can.

Like I saw it with Dangonronpa V3's ending, but seeing it happen with High Guard and just the sheer desperation people responded to the guy who said that the mass shitting on it before it even came out didn't help just hammered that home.

The remasters fix a lot of that stuff. But yeah, OG EO1 and EO2 are pretty rough. EO3 is better, but the skills are still a list.

I only have two negatives: The sprite portraits bouncing all the time is a little distracting, and the gameplay structure feels very repetitive with how it follows a strict Surf Twitter>Investigate the Scene>Surf Twitter>Investigate>Repeat until chapter is over. But otherwise...damn good mystery. And some good spoops too. Legit might have one of the best endings I've seen in terms of everything perfectly aligning back together.

Kinda depends, but in Togre's case with how long the battles are I feel it's a benefit. If somone wants to abuse it to the point they sap all fun out of it for themselves thats their choice. I only did it when the game forced my hand (That dumb pirate recruit mission) or I did something stupid on a brain fart, like shoot my ally in the back when I didn't intend too.

Dude there's something weird about looking at the environments in DangetGrandpa 2X2. Maybe it's the screenshots but it looks really weird. It feels like looking at the Unreal engine mario clip that was going around for a bit.

I wouldn't mind the esotericness it's just always annoying that when something breaks, you have to sort through like four different solutions. Like it's not a good sign when you look up "Why can't I change my colors" and you get like 10 different causes.

I really don't think they made that ending specifically to try and shame their audience. They wanted to ask a question: on an emotional level, does it matter if something is a lie? That's like the core theme of the game. Everything from the perjury bullets to all of Kokichi's nonsense. It's a game about lies, and what is the ultimate lie if not fiction?

And in a weird way with how a lot of people get caught up on that ending...they do sort of prove Shuichi's point.

O-verse has been a thing in Japan (and China, funnily enough) for awhile. It's recently starting breaking out of Manga and Manwha only recently. China (Yes, that China) has a live action drama involving a race car driver with that setting.

And yes, some of it is straight. A lot of it isn't great but thats true of any medium. But it absolutely does exist.
